Backstory for couple: Prior to the outbreak of the Great War, Bernie was a student of Nate Morgan. She would often debate with her sister Brenda and her friends Jules, Paulie and Aleena. During this time, Bernadette gained a crush on Jules. Meanwhile, Merlin was also an attendant as this school in different classes, and would often play with the hedgehog group at recess and lunch (along with his brother Armadas and friend Rosemary). When they grew up, it was found out that Jules didn't reciprocate Bernadette's feelings and he fell for Aleena, and it got worse when Brenda had fallen for Paulie and Rosemary for Armadas. Bernadette felt broken inside, but tried to stay strong for her friends and sister. Merlin didn't mind so much, as he liked being single, but felt bad for Bernie. To try and cheer her up, Merlin showed off his new skills: Magic spells and powers. Bernie was fascinated, and she wanted to try it herself. Although she couldn't get it right, Bernie did have fun trying, and Merlin would always help her put her spells right if she messed up badly enough. Though it all, Bernie and Merlin found love they never thought was possible. They decided not to have any kids, as they were both very busy with their lives already.However, in the future, a lonely hedgehog baby was dropped at their door. Neither of them knew how it got there, but they didn't question it much and they took it in as their own. The child is named Ethan Prower, and he certainly gained his father and mother's intelligence and curiosity. He dreams of becoming a 'wizard' like his dad someday, but he knows he has a long way to go.

Well, in my headcanon, Brenda and Bernadette are sisters, but Aleena's an only child, and Jules, Chuck and Paulie are all brothers. Jules married Aleena, Paulie married Brenda, Chuck's with Rosie and Bernadette's with Merlin.

In my Headcanon Aleena and Bernadette are sisters. Chuck, Jules and Zokar are brothers. They parents engaged Aleena with Zokar and Bernadette with Jules.
Chuck is single in my universe. Since Rosie and Julayla does not exist in my headcanon.
Paulie is the younger brother of King O'Hedge, and he married with Brenda.
On the other hand Merlin meets Isabella years later during the triple wedding of Sonic and Amy, Espio and Sonia, and Manic and Mina, and begins a relation until they marry time later.

I like her too. But it would be an irrelevant character since in my headcanon there are four kingdoms: Mobotropolis ruled by Sonia and Espio, Acorn ruled by Elias and Megan, Mercia ruled by Rob and Mari-An, Dragon ruled by Monkey Khan and Sally. In my universe Dr. Eggman never attacked the Acorn and Dragon Kingdoms. And in the case of the Kingdom of Acorn like there was never any attack, there was no reason why Rosie should protect Elias, Sally, Antoine, Bunnie, Rotor, and Nicole.

Oh, ok. She and her cousin do take care of the future Freedom Fighters in my headcanon (This includes Sonic and Tails, and Elias is with his mother as in the comics)

In my canon Sonic grew up with Uncle Chuck as happened on Sonic Underground. Tails comes from an unknown location. While Elias himself grew up with his parents and younger sister.

Sonic's headcanon's really complicated so, here's my little story:
He was separated from his sibs and was first raised by adopted parents. Then, he raced off to find Uncle Chuck, (all of this happened in Underground). Then, Sonic met up with Antoine, Bunnie, Rotor and Sally when they were all about 4 1/2. The children rushed off to Knothole thanks to Rosie and her cousin (can't remember her name), as what happened in SatAm. Baby Tails was dropped off by his mother in a last effort to save her only son. Then, Sonic goes on many adventures, some of which were with his brother and sister when he reunited with them, and of course, Knuckles as well. When Robotnik was to be taken down, there was an explosion which wiped parts of Sonic and Knuckles' memories. Sonic forgot about Knuckles and headed back to Knothole (the rest of Satam), and Knuckles forgot about the hedgehogs, until he and Sonic met again, ala Sonic 3 and Knuckles. So, Sonic and Knuckles decided to keep this whole thing a secret until they found Sonia and Manic by chance. Then, they revealed the true story and things go from there.
Still working around with it, but that's the idea.

Well, your theory is interesting. In mine you just have to follow the whole story of Sonic Underground (including how Sonic met Knuckles and Athair). I still do not have an explanation of what happened with Sonia, Manic, Queen Aleena, Uncle Chuck, Jules and Bernadette during the events of Sonic X. In my canon, Sonic met to Sally during her wedding with Monkey Khan, but by the moment are only known, because Sonic has more relationship with Elias and Megan.
A fact that if I can say to you of my canon by the side of Sonia is that she and Espio met as children. Espio was 9 years old and Sonia was 8 years old.

Oh, here's Manic's pieces of the story (I'll tell you Sonia's later)
Manic was on the streets and he was Rouge's partner in crime since they were about 6 and 7 respectively (her mother also lived on the streets). They often stole things from other people to survive and were inseparable. But one day, Manic left to find his long lost brother and sister, but Rouge didn't know what the brother and sister's names were. After the events of Underground, Manic sadly mentioned that his sibs had died (though he didn't know what actually happened), and went to working at G.U.N. with Rouge for a while. Once again, it seemed nothing could tear these two apart. And then, it happened. Rouge and Manic went on a difficult mission together, alongside Topaz and Hope at HQ. They were trying to track Team Hooligan down after they went after Rouge's mother. They managed to save Rouge's mother, but just as Manic was taking Fang down, he was shot. Rouge was devastated and she thought he died. But what happened was, Manic was just knocked out, and was brainwashed by Fang, Bean and Bark to being on their team.
And that's where I get stuck.

I, Manic's story I have not developed it beyond what happened on Sonic Underground. Only after the events of Sonic X, when Sonic reunited with his family, Manic was already boyfriend of Mina. Since she was a fan of him, and one day when she was about to be assaulted Manic rescued her and from there began a friendship that only became courtship. Even Manic was the one who encouraged interest in Mina to become a singer.

Ok. Here's Sonia's bit.
Due to being raised in a high class society, Sonia met other friends who lived like this. One of them was actually Mina Mongoose, whom they shared a talent of singing. The two thought of starting up a singing duo when they became old enough. But before Sonia could get to that stage, she went on a search for her brothers. Like Rouge, Mina didn't know who they were. After the events of Underground, Sonia returned to Mina and she mentioned her brothers were dead, (but she didn't know the truth). Through this, Sonia and Mina met up with the likes of Mighty, Honey and Ray (Honey sharing Sonia's taste in fashion). Honey also mentions she is good friends with Amy Rose, and Mighty and Ray tell them about Vector, Espio and Charmy...
And that's where I get stuck.

In my canon when Sonia was 8 years old she was a bit shy and had no friends. His only company was his adoptive mother, Lady Windemire. One day when she went out to the garden of the mansion she climbed a tree and saw other children playing. But he hears a noise and when he turns he sees Espio for the first time standing in front of her (who was 9 years old). Sonia was frightened and fell from the tree, but Espio managed to catch her. From there they start to talk and become friends. During those days, Sonia also met Vector (who was 13 years old). Both of them were her only friends. Before long, the three met Charmy who had a few days of being born. The bee king and the bee queen had been killed and Melissa had been taken to a orphanage by other people. With the passing of the days, Espio and Sonia fell in love, but they could not be together after that, because the assassins realized that Vector and Espio had realized who they were that they killed the parents of Charmy. That's why to keep Sonia safe they left the city. Sonia as a farewell gift for Espio gave her a scarf that she made herself, promising that when they returned they would continue their relationship. After that they did not meet again until after the events of Sonic X.
