That's my problem, I forget the "hurt the eyes" part so most of the time, it hurts the eyes of my friends. ^^'

Well, my recommendation is that you don't have to use every spectrum of the rainbow to make a drawing colorful, just a good and pleasing color scheme/palette. Pick out a few colors that you think look aesthetically good together! And dull the colors a bit by adding graytones to them, because if they are at its most intense saturated level then it will get pretty distracting.
