Cathy Stevens has been quite a gamer girl when it comes to playing fighting games. Mostly when it comes to her favorite: King of Fighters. Soon after Cathy came back with the box in her hands, she opened it up again to pull out the fan. "What exactly is so special about Mai's fan? It looked like a fake to me" Cathy thought to herself. As soon as Cathy opened up the fan, it glowed bright white, sending little shocks down Cathy's nerves. "WHAT THE..." Cathy yelped. When the glowing faded away, Cathy felt some strong tingling sensations in her muscles; that's when Cathy rushed towards the bathroom.

Just right when Cathy locked the bathroom door, she noticed that the skin of her hand was turning pale. Soon the pale skin traveled through out her body; leaving no trace of her former slight tan. Once her skin is fully bleached; Cathy grabbed her sides and grunted from the pain in her muscles. Cathy's muscles where twitching enlarging becoming much stronger. The same can be said about her legs as thighs pulsed, and they rippled as they swelled in size. All of her fat disappeared or slimmed down to the muscles can replace them

Cathy opened her eyes and walked towards the mirror to be in shock that she's literally Mai Shiranui all the way from top to bottom despite being in her worn-out clothes. The material that her shirt was made out of, turned into silky fabric. A black belt with a white stripe in the middle tighten around Cathy 's waist. Cathy's shoes reformed into black and red sandals along with her sock becoming black and longer then her new sandals. Lastly a band tied up Cathy's long hair into a pony tail.

Cathy was amazed that she is finally Mai Shiranui completely. But has a few opjections about Mai's outfit; now that she's wearing it."Seriously how does Mai fight in this revealing dress. It's not as comfy as I thought it would be sense I feel so exposed. Meh... who am I kidding, I guess I could get used to it".

Cathy then again picked up the fan; not learning what the fan did to her, the fan glowed again. Cathy saw her surrounding beginning to black out into a dark void. Cathy felt dizzy and passed out onto the floor.

Cathy or Mai as that's how she remembers her name, woke up in what would be the inside of a beach house. "What am I doing here?" Mai thought to herself. "Oh yeah... I remember now. This was one of the arenas. But what am I doing here is not clear". Mai still remembers bits of her old life along with newer memories of Mai are kicking in and yet still can't remember her old name. "Grrr... why can't I remember my old name. I sworn I used to be someone else" Mai said to herself. Sense the next tournament was about to begin, Mai shrugged it off as it would be a mystery for another time. Now it is time to prepare for the tournament.
