Malkia? Or How about...I don't know,Kiara,I'm not good with names.' The new king sighed and looked down at his mate's pregnant belly,smiling. Kiara had been pregnant for 4 long months. The cub was a little overdue,so they could've been born any day now. Kiara was on a maternity leave,not going on hunts or duties for around 2 months,and she had to admit,she was worried. Kovu was still getting the hang of being the new king. The golden lioness chuckled and kissed Kovu's cheek. 'Don't worry,Kovu. A name will come to us when the cub is born. Which is any day now. And I can't wait to meet our baby.' Kiara smiled,earning one in return from Kovu who licked her cheek. Zazu,the hornbill and Kiara's majordomo flew in. 'Sire! Sire! You're late for the Buffalo Wallow!' Kovu looks up,his eyes widening. 'Oh no I forgot!' Kovu was still getting used to events and gatherings. Kiara had stopped going for now,as she was so exhausted most of the time and couldn't hunt for herself. 'I'll be back,Kiara.' Kovu smiled,leaning down to kiss his mate's cheek before he sprinted out of the cave,following Zazu..he had to admit,this wallow was boring and he'd much rather be snuggling his mate or even hunting with the annoying lionesses then being here,watching buffalos roll around and run in mud. But the king maintained a proud face while sitting on a high rock,Zazu sitting on his shoulder. Back at the cave,Kiara was being social with Tiifu,Zuri and her mother. Vitani would've been there too,but her and her lion guard were patrolling the pridelands for any threats. Zuri and Tiifu were asking a lot of questions until the former queen stood up with a soft chuckle. 'Now,Now girls,let's not overwhelm Kiara. She's probably hungry,so let's go assist the lionesses with their hunt,shall we?' Nala smiled. Kiara nodded. 'Well,Yeah,I am a little hungry.' The golden lioness watched as her friends left. Ah,finally,some alone time. The queen always appreciated the times with he friends,although they were a little too chatty at times. Even if they had grown older. She chuckled to herself as she thought 'Wait til THEY have cubs,so they can find out what it's like for themselves.' Kiara yawned and laid her head between her paws for a well deserved nap. But not even 5 minutes later,she woke up to a sharp pain. She whimpered softly but tried to ignore it until the pain became too much...it was time. The lioness panicked and tried to get up,but was still very exhausted. Hoping her friends or mother were still nearby,she roared out for them. But instead,Kasi,the fastest in Vitani's lion guard came in. 'Your majesty! I heard you roar,is everything okay?!' She asked,and panicked a little. Kiara shook her head. 'N-no,the cub is c-coming...p-please,can you go find Kovu? He's attending the buffalo wallow..' 'O-oh! Yes! Of course!' With that,Kasi sprinted outside and told the guard about Kiara. Vitani and Tazama stayed with Kiara to keep her company while Imara and Shabaha went to fetch the Rafiki. Vitani and Kovu...weren't that great at comforting lions,but she tried, lying next to Kiara and giving her cheek small nuzzles while Tazama sat near Kiara's flank to see if anything was wrong. 'I don't see a cub.' 'Of course not,Tazama,she hasn't started pushing yet!' Vitani rolled her eyes a little at Tazama's statement. 'We'll wait for the mandrill,I don't know how to Deliver cubs.' within 10 minutes,Kovu and Rafiki both dashed into the den. 'Kiara!' Kovu yelled,panicked. Vitani and Tazama soon left,giving Kovu and Kiara privacy. While Kiara was delivering,she started bleeding,which made Kovu freak out. 'K-Kovu...' kiara cried. 'I'm scared...' Kovu looked and walked to his mate,looking at her. 'I'm scared too,Kiara...it'll be okay...right,Rafiki..?' 'Worry not,King. This is normal when having cubs sometimes.' Rafiki said. 'It also means she is ready to give birth.' Kovu lied next to his crying mate,wrapping his tail around the queen's. 'It's okay Kiara,breathe...I'm here.' After 2 hours of agonizing pain,the small mews and whimpers of a cub were heard. Rafiki held the cub and smiled. 'Congratulations,your majesty.' The tiny newborn crawled and nuzzled his mother's golden fur. Kiara had passed out,Kovu sighing of relief as her breaths were still heard. She was just really tired. Kovu smiled at his newborn cub,making sure it didn't wander off and stayed close...His little girl.
