A commission I did for the fantastic for his webcomic Plan B which can be found here: [link]He was kind enough to send along really detailed plot and character descriptions but I found myself just reading through the whole comic cause one I started I couldn't stop!
This was...WAY out of both our comfort zones (aka dark and monochromatic) haha and therefore SO much fun! I wanted to go all out with the pulpy mad scientist thing.
Watercolor/Gouache and a bit of Photoshop.

Thanks for bringing his comic to the light, I've been stuck to it till ever since I saw it here - well, that's just been a few hours to read it all, so...
Still, awesome stuff. the artwork is pretty cool too, though the place of the deed confuses me; the place they normally work in is more technical, to the contrary of the gothical windows and brickwalls, also the rabbit was completely white (may have been a mutation in the cloning) and there has been nothing thus far with any green glowing stuff T_T" - future stuff? spoiler? I dunno...
...But they may be adaptations to the whole Mad Scientist theme, so I may be wrong to question.
I think you've done a great work here, and used the proper style too. It reminds me of Dr. Jackl and Mr. Hyde. the lighting on everything is good, and I especially like the green flares in his glasses!
This is full of awesomesauce, just like the comic. I hope to see it in the next chapter!

Is it possible for you to explain to me why the back/reflected light is purple? Like, very easily? I don't want to bother you, yet I would love to understand it. Would you say that the creepy green light from the unknown section, and highlighting their front, is as it is, while the light source in their real world is purple? Is it as simple as that?

You basically got it. A lot of lighting in pulp illustration isn't so much to create a realistic space as it is to make the color scheme really pop. Put simply, I put a purple/red scheme in the background because it's the opposite of the green main lightsource.

You have such a wonderful sense for colours! <3 This green/purple contrast is so amazingly neon bright, but you've balanced it so they don't seem awful next to each other- in short, you got some mad skillz going on thar!
