I went searching on Encyclopedia Dramatica (horrible site, I know.) and found a few motivational posters. So I decided to make one of my own by editing one.The phrase at the bottom is a quote from the Angry VideoGame Nerd.

After seeing this, I suddenly feel that any argument I had is now...Invalid.

Although most of the volume is off the edge of the table, the hammer head shifts the center of mass back to left, past where the ruler meets the table.
This is why ruler/hammer system stays in static equilibrium rather than just collapsing off the table as human intuition says it should.

I guess it's the hammer, it acts as a weight (obviously) and creates balance (somehow). So to make a long story short, I have no clue in hell.
