Description
Sorry for the big file...This is the reason I have been so busy this week. We've been doing some character development in my digital visual development class over the past seven weeks. Monday I just decided that I didn't like what I was doing so much... so I decided to start over with a different idea and try to have it done by tomorrow (Friday)... All that between going to class and doing other homework. I must be some kind of crazy... Anyway, the 40 thumbs were 1x1.5 inches... the six sketches below that 3x3.5... and the final two were drawn on 8.5x11 paper each. In addition to this I need to do 40 prop sketches/thumbs and I have to colour the two characters.
SO! I might be pulling an allnighter tonight lol... I dont need to... but I just really wanted to do some pencilled fantasy development. Been doing too much sci-fi lately xD
Hopefully I get the colouring done quickly...
The final two characters... the female is supposed to be some kind of magic user, most likely a summoner, and the male is a darkguard type character.
Anyway... Been looking at a lot of Mark Gibbons concept art lately... he worked on World of Warcraft Cataclysm... and if I can do pencil sketches like him I would be so very happy. More practice!
Ok enough rambling, back to work.

If they did... would be pretty sweet xD
I actually plan on 3D modeling and texturing her to Blizzard's style after the end of the semester Need to build up a good portfolio for when I go internship hunting at the end of this year/beginning of next.

wow! good work on this. i too am a big fan of mark gibbons and his awesome pencil work, the level of detail he gets with such clean linework is crazy and these sketches definitely reflect those traits. i personally have the "scribble problem" where my thumbs are a weird mess that nobody else really understands :<
out of curiosity, what was the prompt for these designs? i would love to give your project a go myself for the practice since im not able to do art school at the moment!

Thanks
There was no prompt really. Our project is to design a game character and then to draw a model sheet (we're doing that this week). Eventually we'll illustrate the character in an environment. So basically the prompt was completely open. We have to essentially come up with our own game. Which is both fun and challenging. I just went with what I like Makes it more fun.
