Lovely skin tones.. gorgeous pronounced eyes, and again, i see some interesting techniques which have been executed really well!
I like the use of the gel pen but really like the watercolours underneath it - all those lovely blotches - very traditional and wonderful colour choices.
GREAT PIECE

I think I used the "bleeding technique" ...yeah, that's it...where you touch the color on paper with a wet brush and the color bleeds into the clear water.
It this one:

I love the shading and the colours on this! The expression looks amazing as well; somewhat seductive.

Thank you...but I still don't know how I managed to make her eyes look to the left, where on the original photo she stares directly at you.

You're welcome!
Hmm...she does look slightly to the left. It might be a very subtle thing in the shading or the whites in her eyes?

The white dots in her eyes are the "bad guys"...that's what I'm thinking to

I really like how you coloured and painted this. The details of the face are just awesome!
I saw the WIP on Tmblr; Do you let the paint entirely dry between the different phases? I'm try to get at the same level of painting, but still long way to go

Thank you for the nice comment and for visiting my Tumblr page
If I want to scan a painting that I'm creating, I have to let it dry. Wet paper and scanner aren't close friends.
I'm making those WIP for me and for others to see how I create an artwork. The video thing is not yet for me (I need a DIY tripod, good lightning...ah, just everything...and the work it takes )
If I let it completely dry ? hmm...yes and no.
It depends. If I don't want colors to mix, I wait for one color to dry and then add another. Or I leave one area with wet color and start to paint already somewere else on the painting, where I know the areas won't touch. Sometimes it's the opposite, that I don't want an area to dry. When you want to mix color, or to lift the color with clear water.
When it comes to watercolor painting you have to dive in and try. There's no recipe for it. You learn the most by painting.
I now have a bad type of a paper and I need to stop while painting, because if I add to much water (even with color), the paper gets dots...because it's over-watered. Which normaly with watercolor paper doesn't happen, but with this paper it does and it was something new I had to learn. Each art material you use reacts different. The same is with my Schmincke watercolors, I still have trouble to add more water and less paint. I always get this opaque look.
So paint, paint...you will see how it works. If you need help, just ask

Thank you.
They were "the last touch". After I finished the painting I already scanned it and it wouldn't be me if I would return to the painting to add something...again.
Can't help it...it's a curse

I don't add anything to my paintings after I've signed them, so I know how you feel

What ...only because of the color red?
Nothing else?!
(that's my kind of humor/being funny...I think you understand, just to make sure there's no misunderstanding )
Thank you for the and the comment!
