Description

While painting a new wallpaper for my story I realized how much the way I draw Finn changed from the earlier concepts. The funny thing is, even in the beginning I wanted the design to have a semi realistic / 3D-ish feeling to it, but I couldn't achive it with my drawing and painting skill at the time. So even if I aimed for a similar result to the current one, it just looked like quite classic anime. What I find interesing now is that the proportions are even more stylized than in the drawing from 2019, but it still feels more "alive" and real (at least I hope so, for me at least it does xD). Also some features, especially the nose/mouth area, have a way less cartoony feeling now.

But this doesn't only show the evolution of Finn, but also my own art progress. When I started to design the character I hadn't really drawn human characters before. In fact, I hadn't drawn for many years, only when I was a kid myself I used to draw alot of Disney comics (Donald Duck and co.). When I see the current picture compared to the first one, or even compared to the second one, which is from the first page of the story one year ago, I suddenly realize that I have learnt alot since then - and I'm proud of that And I hope you all find the same motivation when you compare your work to older stuff, because that's in my opinion definitly the best and the coolest way to find motivation to keep going
