Yes I have!

I'm still making up my mind about it completely, but so far I really enjoy it. Kinda like the cover art, it feel like it's all over the place sonically. A good chunk of the album I love, and the other chunk not so much, but I feel like that about any album.

Have you listened to it?

i haven't listened to it yet. I've been searching all over for it, but I've been told it's only available on tidal? is that where you found the album?

Yes, right now it's only available on Tidal, which kinda sucks

well marketing wise it's a good approach from Tidal. i wonder if not having their music freely available to the public will impact their following in a major way or not. apparently Rihanna's new album is also exclusively on tidal. ince you listened to the album already, do i have to pay for tidal, or is it free streaming?

You can sign up for 1 month for free.

Yeah, apparently the subscriptions of Tidal went up from 1 million to 2.5 million because of Kanye's album

o_o

"no one man should have all that power"

i feel a major musical evolution coming up, especially since everyone's so used to free music.

Yeah, music also gets pirated a lot, so they kinda have to do something.

i know i'm wrong about this: but i'm so used to music being free, i can't help but thinking how expensive life would be if i actually purchased all the songs i listen to :-\.
like i said, i know i'm wrong about that, those artists put a lot of work into making those albums, they should be compensated for them. then again what does that mean for visual artists/ illustrators (especially here on DA)? shouldn't they charge people to view their art too?

It's kinda like walking around in IKEA, looking if there is something you like. You shouldn't pay just to enter IKEA.

There's a bit of a different interaction between visual arts & music. Then there's also a difference in digital art and traditional art. Most people that put stuff online on DA do it willingly for free and as a hobby or to get more exposure. You want to get noticed and you want to prove that your products actually are worth money.

When you want to have a painting physically on your wall, or when you work for someone, then you usually get paid for it.
It's kinda like youtube music videos, you hear the song for free - which is promotion - and then people buy your stuff if they really like it.

Your paintings either are a "luxury" product to put up on your wall and for the good looks, or a "service" to someone for a specific project. Stuff like the Mona Lisa or The Last Supper by Da Vinci was commissioned.

I guess some people can make exclusive paintings that you only get to see when you pay up first or something like that, perhaps a book. It works for tutorials you have to pay for, kinda. But I think with the Internet and how it works, gaining exposure and getting "on the frontpage" can be quite important and significant too.

Not to mention that musicians also go on tour and get a lot of money from that.

haha thanks! I was trying to approach it more from a Pablo-esque view rather than getting inspired by the cover
