Description
Chance & The White Angora BlanketPhotographed by Tom Clark at Arches National Park in Utah
The White Angora Blanket continues its journey of keeping naked bodies warm in winter. It will never be washed; it carries the DNA of a lot of beautiful people and will continue to gather more as the years go by.
The White Angora Blanket project is ongoing and will continue until I die, at which time the blanket will become my daughter's along with the collection of images that feature it. Winter is in full swing and the blanket continues its journey. Let me know if you'd like to be a part of it. The only stipulation that comes with being photographed with the White Angora Blanket is that you be completely naked underneath it. How much of your body you show or don't show is up to you.
While most of the images with the blanket so far have been done in Utah it will accompany me on my travels no matter where I'm going. Don't let the fact that you live in Germany or the Czech Republic discourage you. I have a passport. I travel.

What a wonder-ful project and heirloom for your daughter! And such a beautiful image, with its subtle colours and delicate lines. One hears the quiet and feels the majesty.

Thank you. There's snow on the ground here this morning so it means it's time to start doing the Angora Blanket pictures again. I'm excited because everybody seems to become magical under the blanket.

We're in Ottawa, Ontario. The big snows don't come here until around Christmas time - and when they do, it's magnificent. Deep deep snow and brilliant sunlight. Like a dreamscape from Doctor Zhivago. Perhaps your magic blanket will make its way here, some day. Cheers!

Thank you. This is one of the more subtle pieces in the White Angora Blanket collection but one of my favorites at the same time.

excellent work - the pose, composition... He's standing invisible... or unseen. Who was the first there?

Ah, I do believe the snow got there first, but it's hard to say really.

i know i commented on this before but i just keep coming back to it. reminds me of a feeling i had ones when i was on a winter hike in the boy scouts. we got up after a cold night and went for a hike in the new fallen snow. i'm not exactly sure why it reminds me of that but it was a vary mistic experience for me. this work is just imviewed with mistsisem

I agree, there is a feeling of the mystical and surreal here. It was still snowing when we took these pictures and the area was completely silent and deserted except for the two of us. It's an amazing place.

The White Angora Blanket will be certainly welcomed in Czech Republic
The colour scheme and the composition here are perfect! And so is the way, how the blanket covers the body and reveals it's shape at the same time.

I do love your directness...."I have a passport. I travel."
What a great concept for an amazing blanket. When I looked at this shot the way it wraps and conforms is something. And it's so soft, reminds me of a hug.
The idea of using a prop to showcase both the human and location in your art, then passing it on as heirloom to family is so unique.
I live in north eastern Oregon and we have some big country as well as wonderful history including Native Americans like Chief Joseph and Chief Lookingglass. And I live 20 miles from the Oregon Trail. I have wanted to weave those things into a group of photos and your work has given me lots of great ideas to experiment with. The use of a blanket may be the key for some of my ideas.

Blankets are a tradition as old as humans. My use of this white angora blanket came about very organically and without really much thought. I was doing nudes in the snow one weekend last winter and needed something to keep my model warm in between shots. As it turned out the blanket took on a life of its own. There is something very primal and sensual about a naked body under a blanket. At the same time it allows me to continue shooting in the winter here in Utah. I don't know, it's just something wonderful and I'm along for the ride!
