Perhaps some shadow/highlight adjustment, I don't know... But think about the B&W possibility!

Well, I think it highlights a little more the arches effect... But it's just my humble opinion!
How about maintain the original shot (in colours) and post this BW version has a new shot (in Scraps, for example) and let people give their opinion? If you put it in Scraps, post on the colour version a link to the BW version, because most people don't check the Scraps section!

really cool perspective.
this type of photo would be perfect if you took it as a stereoscopic photo.
check this out for more info.

there's a couple of different ways you can take stereoscopic photos.
if you have a multiple-shot setting on the camera, you can take shot 1, at that point of view. then take 2 or 3 steps left or right. keeping the same angle and baselines. but basically it will be a slightly different point of view for shot 2.
then place both shots next to eachother in photoshop (just like my examples.) when you view them using the cross-eye effect. the 2 shots blend together and create a natural 3d perspective.
depending on how far apart the 2 point of views are, you'll have longer or short depth of field.
give it a go! stereoscopy is really interesting.
the cd artwork for Tool's latest album 10,000 days is all stereoscopic. with a built in stereoscope lenses, for viewing the images without having to cross your eyes.

thanks 4 the info...
I 'll try 2 it soon!

do. and stereoscopy works best on objects that lack depth in 2d. like water. or perspective shots like this.
