My entry for 's Fakemon contest on the theme of "deception." My entry is this fella: Vodvilan, a natural trickster.

It shakes hands with its foes to get them to let their guards down. Then, using the mask on its back, it extends "shadow-strings" through its limbs to take control of its enemies. Despite its playful appearance, this Pokemon is known for its violence.

**Two new updates:
*1. Vodvilan's signature move is "Shadow-Strings," which allows it to choose its opponent's next attack and, when in double/triple battles, target. The target of Shadow-Strings cannot be switched in or out.

*2. Vodvilan's ability is called "Trick-Trap." When poisoned or burned, this Pokemon's health increases instead, however, a random stat will be lowered by two stages in exchange.

I chose the happy-sad theatre mask theme because... well... it's hard to read the face behind it. And I chose the typing because this Pokemon's weakness is deceiving, as normally Ghost is super-effective against itself, but it now has no effect, being half Normal. (And unless you count on an Odor-Sleuth strategy, Fighting isn't gonna work either.) The only way to defeat this trickster is to beat him at his own deceitful game (Dark).
