Description
I've been wanting to do an interpretive drawing of "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay, since it's one of my favorite songs and has so much great imagery in it. I tried my best to incorporate everything mentioned in the song, and when I couldn't I represented it in a different way. For example, for the line "I know St. Peter won't call my name" ( or is it "will"? I can never tell) I couldn't really represent that so I had a picture of the Book of Life at the top, where the names of all that will be accepted into heaven are written. Anyway, I'm very happy with how this picture turned out, and maybe you can play "I spy" with my picture and the lyrics."Viva la Vida"
I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
See the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead, Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my Castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand
I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there, there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world
It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
They couldn't believe what I've become
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh, who would ever want to be king?
I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

Thank you! This song always made me think of a literal puppet, so I wanted to illustrate it...

Woo! My favourite song too, so I think you did a great job on interpreting it as well. I always imagine it's Mr. Napoleon Bonaparte singing somewhere in the song too. Can't wait to see it coloured! (Unless you did and I just haven't looked at it yet).

I don't think I found everything...or even a lot...but the idea is fabulous and for some reason seems really great for kids! (I Spy...where's waldo...etc.) I think it would really pop if you use color! Think about it!
