You are more than welcome to do so.

I can send you a copy of the original, if you'd like...although it's about 20 Mb...won't go thru the typical e-mail.

Then you should understand having to give explicit, detailed instructions / explanations / direction?

With my two, it was like writing a contract every time we wanted them to do something. "Do this A, but not B, C, D or F. Do E only it..." and so on...

k heres my version [link] i tried not to be so heavy handed on it cuz i know you dont like that over processed look as much but i still brought out the details of the decay and gave it a bit of pop and grungy feel.. i think things this old and handsomly decaying deserve it

TomFawls In reply to wroquephotography [2013-05-08 14:08:53 +0000 UTC]

I really like it. It is more heavily processed than I would typically care for, but on this image, I think it works well.

Great job, as always. and feel free to post this anywhere you want.

thanx buddy glad ya dig it..believe me tho at first it was very heavy and i backed it down with you in mind lol

TomFawls In reply to wroquephotography [2013-05-08 18:41:29 +0000 UTC]

LOL...I appreciate that.

I was going to say that the only thing that I don't really care for in this version are the small, bright (almost lime) green rusted areas...but when I looked back at my original, they were in that one, too. I just hadn't noticed them before.

yeah they wer there i just brought them out ya gota remember i like the detailsin the corrosion and rusty bits.. thats why i wanted to do the edit

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TomFawls In reply to wroquephotography [2013-05-08 23:28:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, you did a good job. The edit brought out the corrosion and rust a lot more.

have you looked at the stats tho the edit got 130 views just today..thats awsome!thanks for letting me do it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TomFawls In reply to wroquephotography [2013-05-09 01:27:43 +0000 UTC]

I don't actually think I know how to look at the stats.

And it's all due to your salesmanship.

And you are welcome to mess with any of my images. I'm not happy with the "Angel's Shoulder" image. It is an almost pure white statue and I shot it on a bright, sunny, Florida day...and it just looks bland and dull.

I am going back to that cemetery on a cloudy day, though.

but i didnt sell it at all i didnt even put it in any groups.. the stats are on the right as you scrolll down.. it shows the views and favs etc then the camera info

TomFawls In reply to wroquephotography [2013-05-09 14:07:00 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I rarely scroll down past the image!

That's cool. I'm a management consultant in my "real life", and metrics and measurements are my LIFE outside the art. So this works for me.

well i was just adding to the point of being open to some things being heavy processed arent always a bad thing.. mab your not that interested in it in your own taste but it may sell an image better.. you posted the original days ago and you see the stats now compared to the edit that got 130 views in one dayits a tricky thing to balance out our own works with personal prefferance and what may be the best for the art itself and what others may prefer. or to not sellout totally but still do work that will be popular..wish i knew the best formula myself!

I appreciate you help and opinions. And, like I tell my wife about decorating or cooking, don't ask me, just do it, because until I see the actual final product, it's hard for me to picture. And because I'm aging (53 and counting), I tend to be a bit less flexible and open minded than I used to be.

Soooo...if you see an image of mine (here, on Facebook or anywhere) that you want to re-edit / play around with, feel free. I may not like the result better than the original, but I trust that (a) you'll not steal my work without proper credit and (b) you have an eye that, while leaning toward a bit of a different part of the artistic spectrum than mine, is artistically valid and, often, weirdly compelling (I refer you to your rust series which completely drew me in once I started scrolling thru your gallery images and saw the various works as a single "whole"!).
