I quite honestly would love to see that happen in the comic, but while Cathy likes Angel, Angel likes April and he doesn't seem aware of Cathy's romantic advances as she's just a mysterious girl who he knows has appeared in his dreams & keeps bumping into him when he needs comfort or rescued.
I don't know bbmbbf's plan for them and I'm not going to ask him and spoil it. Whatever may happen, I'll just have to wait and see if he gets a chance to eventually finish the comic in a few more years for the answer.
So for a brief moment, I can dream it to be so in this drawing that Angel finally realizes, she'd make a great partner. But this too, could only just be another one of Angel's lucid dreams with Cathy, there to comfort him, in a beach dream world setting. Hmmmmmm......
