Oh Marble, Oh Limestone! The end is neigh! What will happen to my 4th wall?
Pinkie Pie, you look as miserable as I feel about it. The 9th season may be the end of one chapter for us, but it's not the end of us. Your 4th wall will still exist through others.
Oh Marble, Oh Limestone, you both are so right. The fans will keep the 4th wall alive!
Don't let your hearts be troubled MLP-G4 fans, the 9th season may be the last of MLP-G4 for TV episodes, but there will still be more G4 pony content to come through other platforms in 2020 before the G4 content stops coming out from Hasbro. But this is where "YOU" the MLP-G4 fan, can keep MLP-G4 ponies alive and going well for many years to come with your fan art, fan videos, and fanfics. It doesn't have to end, unless you choose to end it in your heart. For me, this friendship message is just too important to just let it die. In these uncertain times, we all need to continue to spread the message of friendship more than ever now.

I'm so unhappy. I have never been affected by the end of a TV show like I have for this one, and I've been around much longer than most bronies.
And now they're advertising "the last season" and all the bronies are saying good-bye...

It's not the end. Only if people choose it to be. "The last season" doesn't mean it's the end, there's more coming in 2020, just not by a tenth season or on TV. Those who really like the show, will be sticking around. Some won't stay because they got to go to where "the crowd" is going to next.
I don't plan to be to going anywhere as long as real life is good to me. MLP-G4 fan here until death do us part.

Oh please let this be true. But right now I am experiencing actual, literal GRIEF as if actual friends of mine were dying. I have never in my life had such feelings for fictional characters. Ever. I didn't even think it was possible. And now I'm fantasizing about everybody taking their fanworks down because they don't care anymore...

Yes, it does leave a feeling of lose in me as MLP-G4 has been a part of my everyday life since I found it in July 2012. This show has helped me in more ways than I can count. I wouldn't be surprised if fanworks start getting taken down, as I've already seen some just disappear over the past few years, but I still see them as I saved them on my storage drive. Like I tell everybody, go buy yourself a 2TB(Pictures & Fanfics Only) or 4TGB or larger(Pictures, Fanfics, & Videos) drive and save EVERYTHING you want to keep, so when someone takes it down, you'll still have it to go back and look at and remember upon. Can't buy a hard drive, go find a place on a Cloud Server drive somewhere (Mega, DropBox, GoogleDrive, etc.) and save them to that "private" cloud storage for your viewing only. Make sure your cloud storage is not available for others to see, due to possible copyright issues that would create problems and cause your cloud storage to be shutdown and you'd lose everything. Just be aware that Cloud Storage servers can change over time with their policies and may get bought out and eventually shutdown.
You're NOT pathetic! Don't ever let anyone tell you that are, as it's only their opinion. I use to think I was pathetic too, until some pastel colored pony told me one day that I wasn't.

Thank you for your kind words. Most important to me is that the fan fictions and fimfiction dot net remain online. Fics are more important than videos or even art. Fics keep the Ponies alive more than anything else. I'm too old to be tech-savvy, and I don't know anything about clouds. I'm just hoping that fimfiction dot net will be there as long as there are people who want to write stories. Or fanfiction dot net, or here at Deviant Art. Or even that new sites will be created.
I'm sure that the upcoming season is going to inspire the largest amount of fics ever. Personally, I don't know why the fan fiction sites would disappear because the series is ending. But I can't help but feel paranoid. The prospect is so horrifying that I'm already worrying about it.
If nothing else, I may have to simply write my own fics even if they stay exist only on my computer.
Sorry. Just feeling very depressed right now. I still can't believe Hasbro is doing this. As popular and loved as this series is, it's just inexplicable.

You're Welcome. In this time of uncertainty, the future can be a scary place. I'm sure MLP-G4 will be around for a while, but it's really up to the true fans to keep it going once Season 9 ends. You'll see those who will stay and those who will leave, as I'm sure we're in for a rocky ride during 2019 for the fandom itself as fans will to come to that decision to stay or leave, basing it on who stays or leaves.
As long as the Fimfiction can keep money coming in to keep the servers up and there is an interest in the stories, hopefully they'll remain around for many years. Unless G5 is a complete bust, we'll probably be seeing G5 stories too.

Yeah, I like the fimfictions myself. My favorite stories, I've copied/pasted them into a Wordpad document and saved them to my PC, just to be on the safe side if site does go under in the future I'll still have my favorite stories as nothing ever lasts forever.
I see Hasbro is ending MLP-G4 on a high note while the show is still popular instead of running it until it just loses it's fanbase. But they do plan to keep MLP-G4 going a little while longer from other platforms in 2020, probably in the form of shorts. Considering MLP-G4 was to end after Season 3, I'm so happy they kept it going and gave us another six seasons of stories, new characters, development, & stories. Plus they're ending G4 to make way for MLP-G5 in 2021. I'm hoping the MLP Movie in 2021 is wrapping up G4 ponies and not an intro movie to the G5 ponies, but we'll soon see in two years as it gets closer. Maybe the movie will start G4, something will happen, ending it as G5.

Thank you again. I'm sorry and a little ashamed of how I've been acting, but as I have said, these characters are my best friends.
I think there's actually a lot of things I'm upset about and the ponies are merely the catalyst for what I'm going through now.
I've heard the next movie is an intro to the new series.
And yes, I knew the show was meant to end after season 3, and like you I'm so glad it didn't. Maybe by ending on a high note the show will inject new life into the fandom.

No problems, you have every reason to be upset, it's like a best friend leaving you in some sense, so I'll agree with you on these characters are like best friends. Your friend may be leaving, but you can cherish the memories you've had for a lifetime. It's sort of like "Tanks for the Memories" episode in a way and losing them in the way Rainbow Dash lost Tank will hurt for awhile, but you will always have the memories.
But with all the lucid dreams I've had over the years with them and the stories I can tell, they will remain my friends in my dreams long after the show has ended, they aren't going anywhere.

As you get older, they say you lose that ability. I too find that to be true, while I still have them, they're less frequent and it concerns me. But what helps me before going to sleep is watch a few pony videos or read a few pony stories, gets my mind on them.
Then the way our brain works, it dumps some of the short-term memory into long-term memory for storage, so during REM sleep when that's processing, if I'm lucky, that's when the dreams happen as the brain is processing the memories. At least that's how it's seemed to have worked for me, not sure for others. Although like I said, it's becoming less frequent with age. /sigh
