It reminds me the ending scene of Warcraft 3 - The Reign of Chaos.
Where Archimonde trying to destroy the World Tree, but Wisps which gathered together and protect the Tree, at the cost of Nature itself.

I love something as mystical as this. Whenever I went to the park, there were woods nearby, I went in them and I'd look up, wondering what it would be like to climb the trees.

Do you know the stories about trees to which Faeries and Nymphs were bound? The sort of a tree that grew in an old, old forest, and within it lived a beautiful fairy, catering to it, but unable to leave, its spirit connected to the tree itself. Every now and then, a mortal man would hear of the beautiful fairy, and try to find her to take her for his wife, with sword or bow or song, but few found the tree, and fewer still caught as much as a glimpse of the fairy herself. And that way, thriving together with her beautiful tree, the fairy lived for centuries.
That's what it reminds me of the most. Those glimmering lights almost look like little spirits, darting round the mushrooms, too fast to be caught by the eye of a mere mortal like we are, like little faeries with glimmering, shining wings.

The old tree had stood there for ages, it could barely remember when it was a seedling anymore... Now flowers, fungi and toadstools were growing by it's feet. Calmly the ancient tree waved it's green-covered branches through the heavens, watching the sun move across a blue sky. When the glowing yellow orb got closer and closer to the horizon and a veil of darkness was slowly being draped over the world, little blue lights swarmed around the tree's roots. It knew it had to protect them, like it always did, and had done, for years and years without end...
