this is the Wanderer's Pocket Locket, inspired by Doctor Who and Portal, in essence it is a portal projector that can also traverse time and space, |I am not sure what character to give this amazing power to so feel free to allow your characters to use it, My treat! just follow its rules|

the watch is the main console of the time machine most of it's functions are holographic so it looks like nothing more than a simple fob watch, it also contains a multi-tool generator and a portal projector. These portals are much like the red and blue portals in Portal and act as a two way gate between any two conductive (smooth metal or smooth stone) surfaces in visual range.

they can also bridge between two periods of time or coordinates in the universe although the farther away or in time one wishes to go the longer it takes to make a portal (a trip to Mars would take 30 minutes to form the gate) and while the gate is forming a number of unusual things can happen around the gate. when traveling the black portal always leads to the past and the white to the future.

The owner of the watch is known as 'The Wanderer' and it is bound to it's user unless someone else can outwit them, to own the watch one must sacrifice something minor about them that makes one human (or pony) but it highlights one's personality, the portals can also be used to enter a massive inter-dimensional sanctuary but the user has to be in out in existence to cast portals. Visual range casting requires little power but long trips require power from time anomalies all over the world, and thus the wanderer must seek them in his or her world.

the watch is never on time as the dark hand points to the black gate, the light hand points to the white gate and the small hand points to anomalies.
