So you can see a bit of the process from the other photos I've uploaded. How it started as a cheap dog toy, now it's comparable in size and demeanour to the original toy, but with some some of my own ideas.

Everything is stitched by hand. I don't own a sewing machine. But all that time spent sewing band patches onto my old punk jackets seems to have paid off here.

I made the wings by cutting out a cardboard frame and putting cloth from an old black bedsheet over it. Then I went over the edges and ... struts?... with foam clay. I was very much making it up as I went.

This morning, I also went round the edges of his finger nails with superglue and pushed them in to make them look a bit more realistic. And I added fur to the back of his hands.

I'm pretty pleased with it. It's my first plushie project, the rest all being dolls and action figures, and it was super fun seeing it take shape.
