Are they father and son? That's really sappy if it is, there aren't many artists that portray parent and child relationships, especially with the son/daughter being a young adult.
Other than that, I like the tension!

You'll learn more about them when the comic launches. I think you're forgetting the larger scope of parent/child stories (Hiroshi Sato/Asame Sato, Minato/Naruto, Lee Shan & Mr. Ping/Po...). The more stories to take in, the broader our range of perspective and understanding becomes especially when it comes to telling them.

Trying to say something a bit more useful, I took a look at the character sheets for those two, and it appears they're each looking for a missing father or son, but I'm guessing that this means they aren't blood relations (especially since your comment for Hien lists him as "Xanh's Protector"). That might be an interesting relationship dynamic, depending on how you go about it.
Not being a visual artist, I don't know if I can give much useful feedback on technical aspects, but the characters are, as others have noted, expressive (and making characters expressive and dynamic looks difficult, since I can scarcely draw a static figure well), and the scene itself makes me grin a bit.
