This is my hometown Imatra. The flower plantation forms Imatra's emblem/coat-of-arms.

*Updates for this photo
Changed white balance to more neutral
Saturation and lumination of certain colours (Mainly red/orange) were edited to better values compared to previous version
Changed sampling and compression method

What beautiful and vibrant colours Toni.  Our guest speaker at camera club was talking about the importance of the correct F-stop for landscapes.  I wonder if a slightly smaller F-stop would have given greater depth to the shot?  Only because you've asked.

I looked up Imatra on a map and I can't believe all that blue.  Is it all lakes?  It's so incredible   Have a look at Perth, Western Australia (if you feel like it) and see how little we've got.  Even then, a lot of them dry up in the summer.  The smell of drying vegetation is so strong and takes your breath away lol

I appreciate your input!
I think it might have been possible to get more greater depth to the shot using smaller F-stop, I've been accustomed to use f/7.1 though, I think it's close to the point which takes sharpest photos on my lens.

We have a lot of lakes here in Finland. You might have heard a saying "Finland is the land of thousand lakes".
I think the majority of the blue you saw on the map is waters of Saimaa , the largest lake in Finland. The wikipedia link has a map of Saimaa which is highlighted to get idea how large it is. (4,400 square kilometres)

I checked Perth. You mean that the few lakes that are there dries up in the summer?

I tend to use too large of an aperture.  I love depth of field flower shots, but struggle not to get carried away and lose the detail in the flower that I *do* want.  Trying to get myself to stick to F8 as much as I can ha ha!

Oh woooowww   That's incredible.  Yes, that was what I saw.  I couldn't comprehend all that water and all those tiny bit of land.  Truly amazing!  I had not heard the saying, but I won't forget it now.

Yes, most of those lakes get very close to dried up in summer.  It gets so that the ducks are all huddled in puddles and the swans from Lake Joondalup (near where I live) go to Lake Monger or Herdsman Lake.  Those 2 get low, but don't dry out completely.  Lake Joondalup is never blue, it's a dark murky green even at best.  One man tried to walk across it one summer night and sunk in mud up to his neck and had to stay there all night until someone heard him call for help the next morning.  It is surrounded by native bushland though and there's a walking/cycling path the whole way round.  We've walked it twice.  19 kms which is about as far as I would ever want to walk in one go.  At the end I tried to step up a tiny wall, about knee height and I couldn't do it.  I was laughing so hard as David tried to haul me up there.  Everyone watching probably thought 'poor old grandma!' with no idea of what I'd just achieved

The Swan River never dries up, but the tributaries get very low.

Enpä aikaisemmin ole ajatellut tuota, mutta nyt en voi enää katsoa tuota kukkapenkkiä enkä vaakunaa ilman, että tulee SS mieleen.
