So this is pretty much all I got done this summer... but I'm headed for a big move, and should be a lot more productive in the near future (I'll be holed up in the middle of nowhere Ohio, so I'm hoping I'll be motivated simply out of boredom!). Anyway, just shot this with my little digital camera, so not the best pic, but I'm much too poor at the moment to get it professionally shot. Oils on canvas, as usualRelated content

no... no model for this one unfortunately. I looked up blueberry pie pictures on the internet and thats about all I used for reference.. The girl is just made up. SO, needless to say I am actually really surprised at how well it turned out!

Not sure if it's been said before, but I really like the Georgia O'Keefe aspect to the background. Lovely setting for a slightly repulsive image (in a good way!)

Thanks! I actually haven't gotten the O'keefe comment from many people... which is really surprising since the image kind of screams it (at least I didn't think I was being subtle).

This painting is absolutely perfect for the cover of "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk , i swear. It's just..... perfect.

I love it too, so far it's my favorite book , don't really know why. hehe.
Even the background of your painting reminds me of the veils she wears over her head. And i adore how it's drawn and the fact that it's called Pie, seeing how even in the book she says that her face is like after you get the cherry pie in a pie eating contest.
And i do apologize for insisting so much on the subject

Wow I never even thought of it that way but you're totally right! I wish I could say I had planned all that from the beginning.. but hey maybe somewhere in my subconcious links are being made that I only think are totally random thoughts.

I read Choke, that was the first book i read from C.Palahniuk and i loved it and especially his style.(his style being the main reason i continued reading his books , lol) I was a bit disappointed by the movie after Choke,though. And i got Survivor from the library a few days ago ; haven't got to it yet. And i guess ,Rant will be next ,hehe, if you say it was good ^^
And I'm really glad we had this little chitchat. It's always a pleasure to talk freely about little things

This really reminds me of a woman's ovaries when they have cysts. Might be a dark view of it, but PCOS makes you feel like this inside.

It reminds me of a flower. The lines around her look like blossoming petals and she looks like the goopy, sticky part called the stigma that you never want to touch
