looks like it was done rather quickly. You know cross hatching can be very shitty if not done with precision. I would suggest you try cross hatching very thin and then see the difference of how intricate it will look.
I will give you a pass on this one citizen!

I like the rugged feel of this pic, and the sharp contrast that comes from that. You seem to have a great eye for detail and composition, and the clock/staff looks great.
It's really a rather interesting piece, and I think it could easily be an illustration for a book.
