Description I hate it when I do a piece of Artwork that I was in a hurry to post and after I post it, I realize that I forgot to put something in it the first time around!!!!

Case in Point. In the previous Pic of The Hitman I had planned to put the WWF/WWE championship belt on Bret. Imagine my surprise when I discovered I forgot!!!!

Damn Mr.Tony

Anyways, I did multiple tights pictures since Bret had WAY TOO MANY tights he wore over the years. The first pic was my favorite pair he wore near the end of 96. My 2nd favorite here is from summer of '94.

As far as Championship Belts go, every Champion has a Belt that is associated with them. The "Attitude" era belt=The Rock. Smokin' Skull Belt=Austin, The Spinner Belt= John Cena, The Big Gold Belt=Ric Flair. Belt here? Sure Michaels, Savage, Hogan, Taker and Warrior had this belt, But to me, This was Bret's BELT! The other guys were just keeping it warm (Warrior, Hogan) till he became a main eventer or when they (HBK) pretended to be one!

Just my opinion

Hmmm...just seeing Bret slap the sharpshooter on Hogan..and making his old ass tap out in the middle of the ring would have been priceless! Would've been a better passing of the torch then what he did with Warrior...and I was a Hogan mark when I was young....

But have always loved Canada's own....and being Canadian myself ...it was like he was our hero too...he is the Best there is ...was and ever will be....Love the Hitman...Id love to see a Tribute piece with Bret and Owen done by you..

Aww what do you mean "they (HBK) pretended to be one"? HBK was awesome. Yes, Bret was awesome too, but at the time, there was nobody else who could have lasted the entire Ironman match with Bret. Though Bret should have gotten a whole lot more belt time than he got. The end of Wrestlemania IX was nothing more than an attempt to keep Hogan happy (we can see how well that worked, as he was gone before the year was over)

I will always love Bret... I just wish he didn't get so greedy at the end (demanding so much money). Not because of the whole "Montreal Incident", but because Bret needed to stay in WWF, and not WCW

Don't take what I said about HBK to heart (no pun intended) I'm just a hard core "Hitman" fan who's still holds a grudge about Montreal. I understand all sides of the matter but I feel that there was a better way to settle this than what was decided upon.

I'll be honest, I begrudgingly respect HBK's as a talent today. I don't like who he was back in the 90's. I think more of my problem with him now stems from that he preaches about god and forgiveness but his mouth in interviews about Bret say otherwise. Take the High Road Shawn! The same can be said for Bret and I think Now he is.

Bret Being greedy? If you know your a great worker don't you think you should be paid what your worth? Especially when unlike most Main Event Talent of that era didn't bust any ass, you would. Also Vince should have been honest with Bret from the beginning with these financial issues before he resigned him to that fat contract. Bret was a company man who would have worked for the betterment of the company. Especially since the Attitude Era was on the horizon and there would be a Big payoff for all involved.

As far as Hulk Hogan is concerned. I think years of being a Prima-Donna holding talent back and Extreme selfishness has finally caught up with him. Karma is a Bitch!

Well compare the "big fat contracts" in WWF and WCW. All the "Main Event" guys on Ted Turner's show seem to have an extra digit in their salary, than on Vince's. And also compare the talent roster. All the guys who busted their ass on WCW were the "mid card" guys who the front office said would never draw any money (guys like Benoit, Guererro, Mysterio, Jericho, etc)

Sure, one should be paid what they are worth... but Bret was asking for a bit too much. Bret decided he wanted the bigger contract that WCW was offering, and Vince allowed him to go for it.

The problem arose when Bret didn't want to let go of the belt. Look at it from Vince's side... You DO NOT want to allow talent to take YOUR company's championship to another company. Can you imagine Bret showing up on Monday Nitro with the WWF Championship? Now I am not saying that Bret would do that, but Vince just couldn't afford to take that chance.

Think about it, seriously - What exactly does Bret lose, not being Champion when he was already leaving the company? Everyone says he was "screwed out of the title"... but either way he was gonna lose it (whether it was taken from him, or if he surrendered it the next night, which he claimed he was gonna do - even though he would have been under no contractual obligation to be there).

Remember what happened when Alundra Blayze left WWF with the Women's Championship? She showed up on WCW Monday Nitro with the WWF Women's Belt, and threw it in the trash on live television. And for several years afterward, WWF did not have a recognized Women's champion. While some may say that this was not a big deal, imagine if it was the WWF Heavyweight Championship? Sure WWF can say they "stripped" the title from the guy who ran off with it... but WCW would still have a "recognized WWF Champion" on their own show, and controversy will flow from there. Especially if the guy carrying the WWF Belt publicly denounced it as "less than" the WCW belt.

See what I am saying? there were more reasons to go ahead with the "screwjob" than there were not to. Sure they could have taken Bret's word that he would have surrendered the title the next night on RAW... but Vince made the mistake of taking someone's word before (example: Nash, Hall, Lugar, etc) And for Bret to start destroying equipment afterward... not cool.

I agree with what your saying, but as I said. All parties should have been honest before a certain fat contract was agreed upon.

I honestly think Bret would have stayed with what he was making previously before he asked for a "raise" He was a company man.

Yeah, this is one of those situations where each person involved tried to do what they thought was right, without fully communicating to the other side. With the way things were at the time of Survivor Series, there is no way it could have ended without somebody getting hurt.

The fact that everyone in Montreal still chants "you screwed Bret" is a little pathetic in my mind, especially since Bret publicly said he was over the whole incident. And why Montreal blames HBK is beyond me, because it was Vince's order. I don't see anyone pointing fingers at Referee Earl Hebner (even though he jumped ship to TNA)

Most fans in Canada Hate HBK for the simple fact of his involvement with The Screw job that and Bret was Heavily Loved in Canada. Call it Canadian Unity I guess. Vince was the mastermind but Shawn was the executioner. Vince didn't do Shawn any favors in the whole fiasco. Since it's still felt to this day.

As fare as Earl is concerned, He got Fired (along with his twin) for Hording Merchandise of the E and selling it for their own profit or at least that's how the story goes.
