This is a shot from one of my old calendar tests. Obviously some artistic license as there was in many of my calendar shots. However I felt this shot was another great example of the facination I have with muscles on women. This model worked out extensivley on her body and in my opinion is highly attractive. I am also attracted to less muscular women but there does seem to be something especially appealing with bodies such as the one pictured here. I think it comes down alot to shape and flow. A toned body does seem to bring out very defined lines ion legs, stomache, shoulders ect. I am starting to wonder if it all comes down to finding the best balance. Perhaps too much body fat hides the natural lines of the human physique. Too little fat can also take away from line and flow. Either way I expect this shot will inspire some varied opinions.www.leapoffaith.com.auiT

Are you able to give this model's name? There are a couple of people in a forum I belong to who are wanting to see if she's done other modeling, but without a name it makes it a little hard to search for.

Hi, I cannot remember her name as the shoot was about 10 years ago and I only used her the once. Think she was from Northern NSW and was a bodybuilder and not a model.

Your commentaries are often as enjoyable as your models, I like the respect you put in it.
This particular time, I have to say I totally agree with you : the word for beauty is balance.
Balance in symmetry is a well-known factor for the perception of beauty, for example. All the elected US presidents in the last decades where those that had the most symmetrical face compared to their opponents. Amazing.
About the fat percentage : I shoot thin and not so thin models equally, but I don't like "to much" in one way or the other : too thin with too little fat and the body doesn't have enough curves (jokingly I like to say that there's "not enough to eat") - too much fat and the body is starting to loose its attraction too, lost in an ocean of matter that should not be here.
Between, there are many combinations possible, which explains the fascination we can have for the female body, because all women are different, and I don't speak only of the body. As I like to point : take a photo in the same conditions of different women (composition, lighting, etc), you won't ever get the same feeling when you look at them.

I love her breasts. I know it sounds weird, but she doesn't have a bra on and yet they still don't sag like most womens do. Exercise does pay off

although I appreciate and enjoy your current work, I think this period was your best. When I saw it I said to myself," ahhh, he is getting back to his old form." Then I saw that it was an older picture. Your newer works don't seem to tell a story, or inspire the imagination like shots like this. But then again, I appreciate the fact that you don't just do the same thing over and over.

Get where you are coming from. In the early years I was shooting mainly for my calendars. These days most of my shots come from workshops I run. Mostly these are about lighting the female nude and are more about form and energy than scene creation. Every now and then though there are some of the older styles coming through.

I basically just love female bodies.. but I definitely get where you're coming from. Something slightly intimidating about this young lady, though. So close to perfect, your average male of the species would feel inadequate in her company. My guess is she gets ogled way more than she gets asked out.
As usual, you have done a masterful job of capturing her energy and her beauty. The torn and soiled tee is an especially nice touch.

Interesting point about men feeling inadequate. I would hope that women who look like this could emit an energy of gratitude and humility that would ease such reactions.

Might be an interesting side study for you..
I've heard a lot of "beautiful" women lament that they have a harder time getting dates than most, for that very reason. Men are, indeed, intimidated by physical beauty. Add in, as in the case of this young lady, a flawless body and that really has to ratchet up the intimidation factor. Even when I was young and studly and basically fearless, when it came to approaching women, I may well have balked at the thought of breaking that particular ice. Little hard to direct any sort of energy at folks who are avoiding contact.

I have for many years looked into the relationship attractive women have with their environments. Most of the models I have photographed have experienced some form of depression or other mental health issue.To this point whilst I agree that the look aspect is intimidating it is also much to do with conditioning. Many good looking women have an extreme energy of protection and commodity.The more humble a woman or man for that matter is the more approachable they become. What we feel and think in my opinion is a massive communication that other people feel just as many animals can through their senses.

She looks like she could be a comic book hero - still feminine and lovely, but strong and fit enough to believably fight crime and stuff. Anyway, nice to see photography of these more buff ladies, it's fresh and you made her look both strong and delicate. I like that there is a sexiness to her while not having dramatic make-up or shiny hair. It's very natural.
