Description This is a shot taken recently for a model portfolio. The woman in the shot is a regular gym trainer and wanted some shots that complimented her training. Like all people she has her better angles and to me this front on shot is especially dynamic. Think it is the combination of feminine curve but with toned abdominals. As with everything in life balance seems to be an important factor in attraction. To me this woman looks very balanced and attractive.

Beautiful - Her thighs are a bit thick, but my eyes are drawn to her mid-section. Great stomach!

Yeah people are used to the "stick thin" "toned" models, who are really just so skinny their minimal muscles show.

Not to detract from the model's beauty (because she is certainly beautiful; physically better than anyone I could ever hope to attract), but the fact that her thighs are so well-toned actually makes me a bit uneasy, physically-speaking. Women are often known to have large-rounded hips and are often considered sexy as a result. Her thighs, however, seem to go in the opposite direction (just below the belly-button on both the left & the right), which to me at least, detracts from the overall image due to its masculine shape & toned-features. Not trying to be harsh, just subjective. The rest of her, I do agree: her face, legs, abs, skin, & breasts - are all still astoundingly beautiful.

All that work for the physique, in my opinion, is offset by the orange tan job. If she likes it, great. I'll never understand the overboard on tanning beds. There is a girl that exercises around town that is physically fit, and just wrecks it with a horrible tan that looks like a 70's leather jacket. The bleach blonde hair probably paints it worse that it is though.

korebetha In reply to mysanitysrequiem [2013-09-20 06:03:19 +0000 UTC]

Or maybe, just maybe, they are just tan. There are a lot of people around in my town who run outside a lot and tan well. That might not be the case, but it might.Β

The shot is very good. The lighting does the model justice. The model has obviously taken time and care on her health and physique. I just wish she didn't have the hair extensions, the fake nails and the orange tan. All her efforts are diminished by the fact that she has gone for the modern porn star look... she is as unnatural looking as she could be. Which is a shame as it detracts from a very well thought out pose/picture

Get where you are coming from Leanne. I do try to encourage the people who come through the studio to be natural. However our society does heavily project such additions. I still however feel the shot has a positive message and that the energy and presence of the expression brings much authenticity to the shot.

Beautiful exposure and interior atmosphere really make her stand out Β in this shot...although I would have cropped that little bit of black from the wall peeking in through the right portion of the shot, but that's just me nitpicking.

I respect the work and torture she must've gone through to look like this, but the bottom half of her body looks like a man, where have her hips gone? but she has extensions, make up, push up bra, false nails and lace panties at the gym, so that qualifies this as feminine. I like the photo though, good study and capture of muscle structure, but I'd rather see this type of model using her muscles like in one of your other photographs.

DrazziElder In reply to 2034220p4rd1 [2013-09-19 21:49:02 +0000 UTC]

I don't think her narrow hips are the direct result of her training. Some women just don't have wide hips. Now I would like to see a woman how a woman with wide hips AND with this level of fitness.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

2034220p4rd1 In reply to DrazziElder [2013-09-19 22:06:20 +0000 UTC]

true you are right, I think because her thigh muscles are so big too that this makes them look smaller as well. And that would be crazy to see, although I don't think a curvier woman could do this, they would produce too much estrogen for their body to create this level of muscle.

yamashta In reply to nk-chan [2013-09-20 05:47:32 +0000 UTC]

I'm not talking about the muscles. I'm talking about the build. The bone structure and the way the muscles form to it. Her abdomen/hips are really masculine imo.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FreakishlyHuman In reply to yamashta [2013-09-20 13:01:54 +0000 UTC]

I think you are just being nasty. The muscles obviously effect the way the build looks, and I don't think her bone structure is manly, and her facial structure clearly is feminine. Why don't you read up on what constructive criticism is and in the future if you don't have anything constructive to say then don't fall back on immature insults.

I don't know why so many are commenting on the things they find wrong with her body anyway. It is HER body and all that matters is if she is happy with it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

yamashta In reply to FreakishlyHuman [2013-09-20 16:11:52 +0000 UTC]

So uhm.. is being a masculine female or feminine male a BAD thing...?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FreakishlyHuman In reply to yamashta [2013-09-20 23:26:34 +0000 UTC]

You tell me, you are the one who said she looks like she was born a male and then laughed your ass off. I wouldn't have a problem with it if she was born a man, but I disagree completely that muscular automatically equals born a man or masculine. Females can have muscles.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

yamashta In reply to FreakishlyHuman [2013-09-20 23:55:37 +0000 UTC]

You're getting overly defensive. ( Putting that aside saying 'lmao' is almost always used in a non literal way. Very few people are actually laughing when they type it, in my experience. More or less it's tossed around in a passive 'beginning' or 'end' in comments, chat, and communication. )

That being said bone structure differs between males and females. Deeper slows in the abdomen/hips, different curvature, etc. She's pretty masculine IMO putting aside the facial structure, which isn't completely smooth either. Men generally have more angular builds all together from the face, shoulders, hips, legs, and feet. Everything from head to toe and in between. Females are generally softer looking. Even the toned/muscular women generally take on a natural 'feminine interpretation' of muscle tone because muscle forms to the body differently and develops differently than a man's due to natural hormones and all that. Hence why transsexual men will always have a slightly more female looking body but can grow/build up/develop muscles into a more masculine form, and how though transsexual women will always have a more male looking body ( in terms of shape ( for the most part ) and broadness ) their muscle tone can diminish and or change it's developmental rate into a more feminine shape and form.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FreakishlyHuman In reply to yamashta [2013-09-21 01:35:16 +0000 UTC]

Regardless of how you view her body it's still rude to say she looks like a man and then to add lmao, whether you laughed irl or not is not relevant. Your comment was a shitty comment and is based purely on your own opinion and was mean spirited. Maybe instead of defending offensive comments you could not make them in the first place and stick to talking about the artistic aspects of a photo and not on what you dislike about a model's body. It's not just you lots of others should do the same.

If you have constructive criticism about the lighting or composition or some other artistic aspect of it then by all means comment, but keep your shitty hateful attempts at jokes at the expense of someone you don't even know to yourself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

FreakishlyHuman In reply to FreakishlyHuman [2013-09-21 22:40:13 +0000 UTC]

I just don't see the need to comment on it in such a way, especially if you are transsexual yourself, it seemed like you were mocking her for potentially being born a man. The model may or may not be offended I can't speak for her, I know I personally wouldn't enjoy seeing this comment and any of the others like it, unless I were actually going for a manly look.
