Description
The players are about to be attacked by a nasty pirate ship (rivals, as they are technically pirates themselves... but good pirates... like Jack Sparrow!). Anyway...hopefully they will have a chance to raid and loot the enemy ship, and when they do, they will find the Spelljamming helm. The helm is a normal helm (a bit steampunk in theming/artwise, but still just a helm... but what makes it insidious is that the pirates took a gearforged wizard (from Kobold Press) and removed the head and attached and attuned the head to the helm. The steampunk stuff probably just keeps the gearforged clockwork wound, since there is no body. This indentured wizard pretty much can do nothing but power the helm and follow the pirate's orders. When the party rescues him, they will have need of a helm (likely theirs will be damaged in the battle), and the team inventor/mekanik will need to set about creating a new body for the gearforged (who calls themself Divine Ratio) so it can be freed from the helm.
