Description
A take on Penny from the late 80s, More traditional feminine design in line with the time. I believe Studios then tended to give animators more flexibility when it came to how cartoons were animated, as hallmarks of different studios where fun to spot episode to episode and from cartoon to cartoon. Today, a more stringent and mechanical approach to animation means new cartoons lack "character" and charm as a model sheet is strictly enforced and individual freedom is relegated to portfolio pieces.

Interesting. Looks way better than the character design from the new CGI series.

Saw some of her by you, where she's older, a bride.
The thought of her uncle &
the chief crying.

Love Penny's outfits.
Too bad she no longer has the twintails, though.

As far as i know, model sheest were always used. Disney and Warner used them a lot, then they also played with animation, doing stuffs like the one above.
Grown up Penny looks beautiful.

The hair is important in animation as it has to be easy to animated a varying angles , the 80s teen style is always good.

Is this purely a mock-up or a lost project you worked on ages back?

i love this! you did such a wonder job! this is how i could imagine Penny when she is older, plus her hair without bangs and pigtails are on point! ^_~ ... she kinda reminds me of a Disney character from around that era, very curvy and sleek! but very close to the original.
poor uncle Gadget, he has to deal with "love struck" teenage boys knocking on their door! lol!
