What I would have done with the Scooby-Doo series is not give an AU with Velma being a hateful protagonist and no dog in sight, but a film with this concept: "Scooby, disheartened by how the media does not view him as an important part of the team (due to his being an animal, thus sticking him with the 'sidekick' label), decides to prove he can be just as good a detective as his friends, and ends up coming in contact with a group of new characters coming to his aid."
