Description
Thank You: Thank you all very much for over 1,000 views and over 100 favorites. I really appreciate all the kind comments and all of you coming together to remember Steve with me.Please do not disrespect my deviation by making ridiculous and blatant insults or disrespectful comments toward Steve Irwin, the things he did, or toward me. This deviation is meant to bring people together so that they may reflect upon a great man.
Steve Irwin died on September 03, 2006. He was filming a documentary near the Great Barrier Reef when a sting ray pierced him in the heart with it's poisonous barbs. Emergency crews declared him dead on the scene. Irwin is survived by his wife and two children.
This is my personal tribute to the Croc Hunter. He was a great man who put a lot of devotion into animals and earth. He will be sorely missed.
Note: If I put this in the wrong catagory, then please let me know.

EDIT: I've moved this deviation to scraps. I'll still keep it as my featured deviation. However, I think this is clogging up my real gallery. All my stats are pointed toward this picture, and it's not really my art. So, I'm moving it to scraps with sadness. However, this will not change the true meaning of the picture or how I feel about it. Thank you.

I love what Steve was doing about the planet (I think I can say that with no doubt).. and I think we can continue his deed by caring about the nature around us.
It's nice to see how many people are feeling the same thing as me - pain and proud at the same time.
Thanks for doing and sharing the picture, TopazKitty.
Rest in peace, Steve.

Man...I feel horrible now.
In fact, this is gonna sound insensitive, but the week he died, my dad and I had just seen a South Park episode with him in it.
I love animals. I own two bunnies; a normal one (I haven't posted any pictures of her on here, yet) and a crippled one (You can see a few pictures of her on my account). My dad and I currently are feeding homeless, stray puppies, even with the two bunnies we have. My original bunny with the crippled one, Haishi, passed on earlier this year and it was hard to deal with. I cried. I hadn't had her out to play with the day before she died...
My boyfriend, Zachary/Ph00kedup, reassured me that my bunny was alright where it was and that she knew I cared for her.
I came upon the Animals Asia Foundation site a while ago before Steve's death (animalsasia.org/ or [link] ) and I hate that these situations are even occuring. Now I'm more aware of how caring and dedicated Mr. Irwin was to rescuing animals. I've only ever seen him as goofy (Sorry for this, but it's just my being honest. I can't lie. It'd be awful, especially to lie for something as tragic as Mr. Irwin's passing on) and Australians (I just found this out, btw) always saw him as amazing and compassionate. Why couldn't the media in America have shown the serious side he shows in the photo on the tribute page to him on Animals Asia Foundation's website?
I'm still confused about religion and things of the sort, but, if there is a God, then he should be taking care of Mr. Irwin and my fat, fluffy bunny, Haishi. She was always an agressive little bugger, but I loved her anyway. Maybe Mr. Irwin is trying to avoid getting bitten by her.

it a time of fear and sorrow, it hurts more than anything, now that he has left us. all you had to do was watch him, youd smile, youd laugh, no matter whats happening to him. now, hes suddenly gone. i personally feel as if ive lost a bit of my soul... maybe you agree, maybe you dont. but what you think about him doesnt really matter. hes gone in body, but his spirit lives in us all. it lives in the zoo he loved so much, in the rugged outback he fought to protect. i think that these music lyrics, from the lion king 2: simbas pride, fit him perfectly:
Song: He Lives in You Lyrics
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala [Here is a lion and a tiger]
Night
And the spirit of life
Calling
Oh, oh, iyo
Mamela [Listen]
Oh, oh, iyo
And a voice
With the fear of a child
Answers
Oh, oh, iyo
Oh, mamela [Listen]
Oh, oh, iyo
Ubukhosi bo khokho [Throne of the ancestors]
We ndodana ye sizwe sonke [Oh, son of the nation)]
Wait
There's no mountain too great
Oh, oh, iyo
Hear these words and have faith
Oh, oh, iyo
Have faith
Hela hey mamela [Hey, listen]
(Chorus
He lives in you
He lives in me
He watches over
Everything we see
Into the water
Into the truth
In your reflection
He lives in you
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala
the chorus is repeated a couple of times...

I actually had never really wanted to watch the show. It all seemed extremely silly to me. But then my friend got me to watch an episode where steve saved some baby tigers, and I watched all the time after that. It wasn't one of my favorite animal shows, but the things steve did for those animals, when no one else could or would, makes him a great hero. R.I.P. Steve.

SO do I.... I wanted to be just like the Croc Hunter when I was little....He was and STILL is an idol to me, even though my whole family called him nuts(other then my dad. He thought Steve kicked ass xD). Everytime I see a wounded animal, I always feel a stab of pain in my heart. SO I convinced my parents to let me call the animal control society to capture them, treat them, and give them good homes

He was definately immortalized. The world truely lost a great man that day. He will be forever known as a deticated conservationist, a man who lived life to it's fullest, and a devoted father and husband.
R.I.P. Steve Irwin.
