GENDERBENDING-TIME!

Just random Game of Thrones characters genderbent. Gotta admit, Brien and Jaine are by far my favourites... As much as I ship them in normal!form I am so digging them in the genderbent-form.

Looks-wise? Mayhaps.
Personality-wise, I don't agree completely they are similar, but they are also very very different people.

Again, I like Jaine and Brien best.
But now I have really strange imaginations about Β the Bloody Mummers as a band of crazy, battle-hardened women, who want to rape poor Brien. The very idea of Vargo Hoat as a woman Β makes me cry out.Β

Oh my god that is an absolutely terrifying... yet... disturbingly entertaining idea!
And Hoat as a woman I can't even...

I can't even with your Genderbending! Literally every design is PERFECT. Khalessi Drogo is just spot on and I am not even gonna start with Sandora Clegane -we'll be here for hours! That is one fierce, fierce biatch! And Tywina! Hot damn that's cool!Β

Not forgetting, of course, Brien & Jaine who are apparently perfect in any form!

TopHatTurtle In reply to SnowFright [2013-08-12 12:49:31 +0000 UTC]

I hoped to give Tywina the same BAMF+MILF effect that Tywin has, you know, with all that old-man-swagger-juice he's got going on. I imagined Tywina would be everything Cersei WISHES to be... which basically is pretty badass.

Sandora was hilarious to design, as she is basically Sandor with eyelashes and boobs - Sanso is going to be trickier to design as I am really afraid of making him look TOO girly. But talk about the-odd-couple.

Drogo was just too much fun; Pretty much a Miss Olympia.

And Brien and Jaine... I love those two, honestly - I hope to do more of those two because I can see so much potential in them. Of course both to be properly worked upon as their gender-situation has changed drastically, but I still feel that personality-wise they don't need to change that much, if even a little.

I know exactly what you mean about Tywin, that dude is straight up old man power tripping. I probably would

I cannot wait to see your Sanso! Are you going to do an Aryo Stark too? Or a Genderella... gosh I can't imagine Gendry as a girl, I think it's cos he's half naked and torso-y all the time... *dreamy siiiiigh*

As it is now, I'm currently on a Pacific Rim/GOT roll, but when I get back to genderswapping, I'll def. consider those characters ^^

Isn't Jaime genderbent basically Cersei with a conscience?

With the looks yes But no matter what they say themselves, they ARE actually quite different IMO.

firelord-zuko In reply to TopHatTurtle [2013-08-07 23:46:29 +0000 UTC]

LALALA I CAN'T EVEN HEAR YOU

Seriously though, they are very much alike in character. The major differences are that Jaime is not quite as arrogant and ambitious. And probably more competent as a ruler (my personal theory still is he'll end up as Hand of the King some day. Dramatic irony and all. Ooooh, or he could be king and Cersei could be his queen <3 I'm sure Tommen will be a good boy and seal the bull.)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TopHatTurtle In reply to firelord-zuko [2013-08-08 00:07:34 +0000 UTC]

Each to their own. I'm not for the continuation of JaimeXCersei, and albeit I do like their story, I don't see how there's any way they can go back to normal.

Either way, I still find them very different; could be the whole gender-thing but I doubt it; Cersei is ambitious... she's wild, she's impatient, she's political AND she's powerhungry. Whereas there are a few of these traits in Jaime, they are not ihs main-motivator thus differentiating him from Cersei by a lot.

But as I said, each to their own. There's a ship for all people ^^

I fear the same, J/B seems to be as good as canon now. I do think they still love each other, though.

All of which derives from her ambition and arrogance. That's why I broke it down to two characteristics. Note also that there is a very slight bit of double standard, an action which might count as wild or impatient in a woman would not be considered thus in a man. Killing Aerys? (I've read an excellent fic in which Jaime is Cersei's imaginary friend/brother/lover, and she actually kills Aerys.)

TopHatTurtle In reply to firelord-zuko [2013-08-08 08:31:15 +0000 UTC]

With George R. R. Martin you never know. I don't think they are, sadly though. But of course Jaime and Cersei still love each other - they've spent a lifetime loving one another, such a thing doesn't just disappear overnight. But I hope they don't end up together - that is one unhealthy relationship.

And no, of course there are double-standards - it has to do with the time and the place, but whether man or woman being wild or impatient is not a trait that is praised in the books - all the characters who seem above average intelligent are all calm and collected, not wild and fiery. And Jaimes decision of killing the king was not rash or all of a sudden; it was a result of years and years having to go through the reign of Aerys, which (as he describes it himself) left him dead on the inside - having watching the Starks getting roasted and then having the thread of the entire kingdom burned to the ground was the final push. It wasn't calculated but it wasn't rash.

And Cersei, basically suffers from penis-envy and the fact that she can't be her fathers son - AND she's not so clever as she think she is, whilst still having the ambition and the hunger for power. Had she been a man I don't think she'd been Jaime. She would probably more likely had been a lesser dick-like and a non-psychopathic version of Joffrey (and I KNOW this sounds VERY harsh, but it isn't mean to be - I ADORE Cersei and she is not even remotely as disturbed as Joffrey, but there are traits where you can see why he's like he is.) Honestly, ti all falls back to Tywin, to have messed up his kids.

Still there needs to be some kind of settlement. Apparently Jaime is the Valonqar, if so, I hope he doesn't plan to live past the day he kills Cersei.

I meant outside the books. And Aerys' murder may not have been rash, but it certainly was impulsive. He never considered the repercussions, which would have been considerable had Robert not been so lenient.

As I said, arrogance. A trait which Jaime shares, though much less pronounced. And, let's face it, he is also a dick, as is Tyrion. The sole difference is that they're sympathetic characters instead of tragic ones, like Cersei.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TopHatTurtle In reply to firelord-zuko [2013-08-08 15:57:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, we can't be sure he's the valonqar (and please, I haven't read the last book, so if anything is revealed there, don't tell me ) so no one says he's going to be the one to off Cersei. And of course I hope he won't have to.

But given the choice I'd rather Jaime survive

firelord-zuko In reply to TopHatTurtle [2013-08-08 16:49:42 +0000 UTC]

Well, Cersei seems convinced it's Tyrion, but that doesn't mean anything, does it. Still, from a dramatic point of view I'd say the logical conclusion of their arc is a murder-suicide.
