Is it a ploy to catch Scooby Dum?

Oh Velma; you should know by now that Fred is a favorite of Lady Luck and can make the impossible possible (even if the how isn't exactly what he intended).

He is indeed - must get to her at times, considering how despite all logic his traps do work... at times

Β  I really love Velma's expression here. Actually, I like all the expressions. What started this Scooby Kick? It's awesome!

Me too! Viva good Scooby Do (I'm not overly fond of Mystery Incorporated; it felt like a copout in the end and was too much Darker and Edgier overall for my personal tastes)!

FINALLY, someone else who isn't a fan of Mystery Incorporated: it was a copout at the end.Β  I was okay with the darker/edgier nature for the most part but all the love drama...eeeehhh. Not a fan.

Well, the drama between Fred and Daphne didn't bother me as much because it made some amount of sense. Shaggy and Velma's trouble on the other hand...if you have to give the group Smart Girl the Idiot Ball to make the conflict work, you're doing something VERY wrong.

Exactly.Β  I'll admit, the only thing with Fred/Daphne's drama was that there was so much of it that I was like "Damn it, just let them be happy!Β  And realize she likes you already Fred, geez! Stop devoting episodes to this!"Β  And you pretty much summed up Velma/Shaggy.Β  It was just...odd how borderline OoC she when it came to that relationship.Β  Like when she kicked over a tomb stone. I was like "Whhaaa?!"

Her being violent when she was angry didn't bother me as much as how often she completely mishandled all of her relationships. Velma usually is the mediator (except in the live-action movie; that was one of the things that bothered me in that one...that and the complete villainization of Scrappy).

I suppose with me it was the reason why she kicked down the tombstone, which goes back to what you're saying: the way she mishandled that relationship wasn't very 'Velma' to me. I get it: she's a teen (or that's the excuse I'm usually given) but still. By the end of it, I actually didn't feel bad when Shaggy broke up with her.

I'll admit: I'll never seen the movie but I did hear he was the villain.Β  I was like "...What."Β  I know I'm in the minority but Scrappy Doo never bothered me. Like at all. I can watch anything with him in it (one of my favorite animated features is Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School, ) and be fine.

I only felt bad in the sense of she was upset but otherwise the breaking up felt like it made sense. Her having the entire gang hate her at the end of the first season though...ouch...
I love Ghoul School too!

Such a fun Scooby Doo movie!!

And yeah, I was like "Well...damn..." Β  I don't mind drama honestly, but the show had a bit too much for my taste.Β  Okay, only on par with what I'm used to with Scooby Doo. I did like the main villain though: he was pretty interesting and fun. And I liked the idea of an ongoing season long mystery: they should do it more often.

Yup.
And the ongoing mystery was a good idea; mixing it with as much drama as they did...not so much. I've actually seen a fanfic ("Realizing Love" on fanfiction.net) that had the plot of an evil enemy of the Scooby gang kidnapping Velma and forcing the others to solve the mystery without her; over the course of the story, Shaggy comes to terms with the fact that he's in love with her. It had just the right mix of friendship moments, flashbacks to explain story elements and the right amount of drama.

And here are two more that take place during "Pup": one that chronicles their first case (www.fanfiction.net/s/8789458/1… and another that shows us where they get their skills from (www.fanfiction.net/s/9380412/1… ; yes the author went there).
Enjoy!

Thanks!Β  You're right, the story is quite entertaining!Β  Plus I just love the premise of the gang having to solve a mystery without their 'brain' so to speak able to help them.

Glad you liked it. I liked that plot point as well; it was also cool that solving the mystery directly tied to the gang's close friendship since most of the clues would have been incomprehensible to anyone else.
And did you read the other 2 yet?
