I know how the rats got the gold. Robina the Hood gave it to them. I mean, there's no doubt about it. Her favorite saying is "Steal from the Rich and give to the Monsters. How else do you think they have so much gold when you defeat them?"
P.S. for those of you who don't know, Robina is a character from a game called Adventure Quest.

That is why I never put money or some itens on any creature that wasn't humanoid/civilizated on my RPGs... how a rat, a hydra or a kraken carry potions, money, etc?

Of COURSE rats carry gold! And a drumstick can bring you back from the brink of death. And the average human can carry at least two tons worth of heavy weapons on their person, seemingly unnoticed! And it's indeed possible, under any circumstances, to double-jump!
