Description
Been meaning to do one of these, seeing more and more people posting them prompted me to finally commit to one.1. Military Stuff, mostly of Russian origin (Hence the T-34/76 tank). Always wondered why I was so fascinated by Russian stuff, maybe I was Russian in a former life.
Been studying and drawing military stuff since I was a kid.
2.THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN! This one kind of shows my age... watched it on Saturday mornings all the time as a kid. Screw Thundarr though. OOKLA (the beastman) IS BAD ASS! RAAARAAWRR!
3.X-men (Jim Lee). When I finally committed myself to start drawing people, they were very Marvel comics influenced.
4.Vampire Princess Miyu. First anime (OVA) I owned during the age of VHS. And also the anime that prompted me to draw anime style characters.
5.Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm. Simply the best cyberpunk out there in my opinion.
6.Urusei Yatsura. A classic anime but a awesome one. The variety of wacky characters is pretty diverse. And who doesn't love a bikini clad flying green haired girl with horns who can shoot electric bolts?
7.Mermaid Scar/Mermaid Saga. Unlike Urusei Yatsura its one of Rumiko Takahashi's darker works, but a very well done one. About two companions that share the same immortality from eating the flesh of a mermaid. They're devotion to each other is touching.
8.Escaflowne. Simply a magnificent fantasy anime. If you haven't seen it by chance, do so immediately.
9.Last Exile. One of my top 3 favorite animes. Wonderful storyline and character designs. Also there's air battleships!
10.Kurau: Phantom Memory. Yet another one of my favorite animes. The bond Kurau (the adult) and Christmas (the child) share in this anime is why its such a great one.
11.Negima. My favorite manga. The art and storyline is simply awesome, not to mention theres many hilarious moments. Still not sure who my favorite character is, but Chachamaru and Eva are definitely my favorite duo.
12.Nausicaä of the Vally of Wind/Hayao Miyazaki's works. Who doesn't feel influenced by them? I chose a pic of Nausicaä with Dorok soldiers, because Dorok soldiers are cooler than Torumekian soldiers...
13.Rin's Adventures/Felarya. Rin's Adventures are what originally got me interested in Felarya. Not to mention inspired me to create Negeyari. Such a great story, once I started reading it I could not stop, and I spent all day reading up to the current chapter of the time. I really liked the idea of not all Felaryan predators being dangerous. If it wasn't for this story I may very well not have gotten involved in Felarya. I'm still not the biggest fan of vore.... but dammit... I had to adapt. It would be unrealistic if all my characters were harmless. XD

T-34 is Soviet, not Russian
I totally agree with your 1 (as well as some other points), I even drew a Soviet tank last week, too (is in my gallery).
Cheers!

Ahh the movie is a very good one, though I HIGHLY suggest the manga. The way Miyazaki illustrated it: its like a movie in its own way. Well more like storyboards but still. XD

I guess I'm the not only one who saw/read Rumiko Takahashi's series (I only saw inuyasha and some of ramna 1/2), you also saw Escaflowne along the way? Too bad I only saw X-men the animated series.

Oh yeah, I've seen/read alot of her works. And yep, with anime being 75% of what I watch, I've seen my share of mecha anime.
Had quite the collection of X-men comics back in the day, Psylocke was my favorite I think.
