Done for 's contest. The winner was one of her friends

I was given a pit bull character to draw and after drawing Contest Entry - Wisdom I knew I needed to do something different on the fur. Wisdom was just too much and too hard on my poor poor old lady joints. I was told the character looks tough, but is a sweetie at heart which 90% of pit bulls are. Now, I don't have a pit bull, and have never owned one, but I do love them a lot. I think they're great dogs, but there's just a culture about them here that I really don't like. I'm from Detroit so the pit bull owners tend to be super ghetto :/ So I wanted to put my love of pit bulls into this and make an awesome pitty anthro pic that I would love to look fondly at in the future.

I thought it would be cute to have a serious looking pit bull in a muscle shirt holding a flower, it just popped into my head almost immediately so i drew that, but I wanted to put more into it, like where did he get the flower from? So at first I was considering doing a parking lot in the background with some flower bushes, but I got his for some hard cravings to go running at some bike trails a distance from my house so I started drawing that instead. I threw in a pond, because I just imagine this big dopey pit bull running across the water, picking a flower, and running all the way back to shyly give a flower. It's just so adorable in my head canon.

For the fur, I didn't want to do what I did before at all, so I looked into my brush set and scoured for something I could use. I found this brush I have called 4 line and started working with that. First I blocked in basic shadows and highlights, and then I used the 4 line brush to move the color around and add more to it. The brush I was using doesn't really do well at adding color, so everything turned out pretty desaturated even though it had a texture. So, to counteract this, I added color on top using a grass brush I have. In the end, I really like how it looks and will be using this in the future. I also have a 5 line and a 7 line brush I can fiddle with if I want.

The shirt is literally one I have at home. Under Armor cold weather compression shirt. Same color too. Considered putting the logo in, but didn't want to worry about copyright.
