Description
Oh dear lord, this is embarassing. My parents are both big nerds, so I was never discouraged from reading fantasy and science fiction when I was younger. Also, I had an internet account at the age of four. By "internet", I mean "Cleveland FreeNet". This is pre-WWW. I'm *that* old. Anyway, I grew up to be a giant nerd... go figure.
In the late 1990's I discovered Yahoo! chat rooms, specifically the Arts & Entertainment rooms. Especially the RP ones. Affectionately known as "Ayenee", the fanasty-oriented psuedoRPG was pretty much 100% user-generated content and, actually, a whole lot of fun.
I think my parents probably thought I was looking at porn or something on the computer when they weren't home, but in reality I was spending hours in a chat room pretending to be some sort of thief-like wannabe bounty hunter chick who could turn into a kitty. Yeah, I was -that- kid. You know, the one that even the D&D nerds won't talk to.
Although Yahoo! has long done away with the user-content generated chat rooms in favor of Y!IM, I recently found out that all those nerds I used to chat with are still around at sites like Ayenee.com and Ayenee.org.
No, I will not be joining them anytime soon--after all, I grew up and got pretty, so people sometimes take me seriously now--but it did make me nostalgic for my character, Catalina. Maybe you'll see her around, but probably you won't.
On an entirely unrelated note, this is the only inkwork I've done that I'm happy with in like... two months.

I favorited this party because I think the drawing is awesome, partly because I think the written description was humorous, and partly because I remember Ayenee.
