Description
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I learned Krupp of all people would be getting a love interest in the Captain Underpants film… but it ACTUALLY works and its actually one of the cutest romances I’ve seen in a long time. So of course I had to do some drawings.(By the way, if it looks odd that one persona looks more realistic than the other, I did that intentionally).
It looks like such a strange, but hopefully a happy relationship. It seems like when DreamWorks Animation wants to do a romance or a relationship, they seem to be realistic and healthy despite all insane odds.
So Dreamworks Animation, if you do make a sequel then PLEASE let this relationship stick. As much as a jerk Krupp is, I do want him to have more chances to become a much better person and for him to get his own happy ending.
(Captain Underpants belongs to Dav Pilkey… and Dreamworks Animation now, I guess).

It just a way to make him look more evil then he really is.

What does? The way I drew him or the way he gets jealous? Or is it the teeth?

Yeah but he goes into 'sharp teeth' mode so often (and he does it twice in the film as far as I can recall) that it's easy to make it into a joke.
With a cute twist in this case. If she wants him, she wants it all.

Well if she was being harassed by unwanted attention, then I think they would immediately regret it if they realized what kind of person she was dating.
Oh dang, I can totally see it!

Yeah, Edith was probably the cutest part of this film. She was so shy and sweet and just to see Krupp go skipping down the hallway later on for his date with her that George and Harold set up for him was adorable.
I'm almost afraid to ask which book had everyone running about half naked?

I think it was book… 11? It was one of the later books and it's just as awkward as it sounds (and of COURSE Krupp was the only one not doing it and was just confused as all heck).
I thought of this earlier, and we might have talked about it before, but when Edith had her moments of confidence she seemed pretty playful. If you combined that with her gentle/kind nature then that DOES make her a good match for both personas. One being grumpy and violent but also shy, while the other one is joyful and energetic as well as playful, but both of them ALMOST flirt the exact same way.
I also couldn't help but notice this (And this refresher DID come from a clip someone filmed in the theater. I'm not happy with how much of them keep popping up now.)–the idea of dating Edith excited Krupp so much that the first GENUINE smile (not a smug/sinister/awkward smile, but a real happy smile) he makes at that point is so much like the kind of smile CU makes. Its just so incredibly goofy but also so sweet. It really adds to the idea that CU is the good within Krupp that's brought to the surface.
