I love how you used the set pieces to reference his strong interest in space as well as the space themed markings in his fur. The fact that he is sleeping communicates a happily relaxed attitude about him and gives him a clear understanding of who he is. The purple of the planet goes well with Dakota's blue fur, because they are both considered cool colors. Overall, this piece is very well put together, and is a wonderful entry for the contest.

I think most of the praise you give would have to go to Corgi-Cola, since his character is the main focus. My original thoughts on my entry was 'hey, lets make Dakota sleeping on a planet!', and it just went from there.
Huh, I didn't think about blue and purple being two cool colours that worked well together. I just used purple because purple is fun >v< (and again I don't usually do much with colour theory. Jeez I better get right onto practicing that!)
