Wow, I just love how you structure your drawings and draw with areas of texture and value and not only line. Reminds me of the drawing style of Ian McCaig.
Super nice sketches

It's nothing! totally love your style.Β
Have you studied in art school or have you worked these things out by yourself?

Well, once I was studied art in the state university. But it was like years ago, and I totally had lost some of academical skills. Probably, If my teacher of drawing would take a look on those sketches right now, he would smak me with a brick, for I am "non-academical disgrace")))))

Haha! I know what you mean. But seriously, these are super good.
What method do you use? if you don't mind me asking.
Do you use any "head construction method" like loomis, or reilley. Trying to get the structure right and the hea dlooking solid
Or do you just go for a more observational approach, emphasazing on abstract shapes and forms?

Do you get what I mean?

Yeah, totally get!
I think loomis and reilly's tips are gold when you unexperiensed in drawing, it's very academical - and usefull.
But I do prefer observational approach, I like it better, it's quick, it's handy when I'm sketching. You know, Russian traditional drawing school is all about construction. But it's kinda... boring. Β I need to practice now to paint and draw more freely.

P.S. Sorry for my rusty English. 8)

Yes of course I understand what you mean. I think it is great to work with the constructive models and get the structure reallyΒ
internalized. Then you can start to tone that level of structure down and loosen up your drawing and concentrate more on the marks themselves, and make sure that your lines, values and edges are interesting as well.
Do you mind if I send you some images I am working on and you give me your opinion? It would be great to hear what you have to say

Oh man, you really caught his likeness. I love the random dudes as well -- especially the fellow in the middle. There's a lot of attitude in his expression and the linework.
