yeah, an evil hinata is something no one wants to see ^^
i've wondered that since if hagoromo is the one who inherited sharigan and chakra and passed it on to his decendents (uchiha, senju and uzumaki) then the brother must have inherited the byakugan and started the huuga clan. maybe he'll show up to hinata within the infinite tsykayomi or something.

More than that - why would Kishi even invent him to begin with.
I mean, the current situation is fully done even without him - so why make a character for 'no reason'.
That only makes me more sure about my prediction.

he did the same with kaguya, mentioned her once then faded out for a while then BAM! the evil witch is back!

It's different.
Kaguya is Sage's mother, AND she's the one that started the whole Narutoverse chakra thing to begin with - so she has a very personally unique role.
But that 'brother' was mentioned merely as a helper to beat Juubi, which Kishi might have done through the Sage alone - so he's pretty much 'unneeded' so far.
AND the clear fact that Kishi gave Byakugan as primary eyes to Kaguya - yet she isn't even using it at all, so far.
But, again, that 'brother' is both implied to have Byakugan, AND he looks very much like a Hyuuga.
ALL of it combined - there are solid hints for some Hyuuga-related surprise that is yet to happen.
And with Kishi typically, yet uncharacteristically, paying Hinata so much attention during BIG moments - I'm kinda firm to actually expect a feat out of her YET.
