Yes, everyone, it's JOWAN! And if you don't know who Jowan is, you haven't played Dragon Age. =/ Or at least you haven't gotten to the part with the Arl of Redcliffe, and if you haven't gotten there, you really haven't played Dragon Age XDBut for those who don't know, Jowan is a blood mage who was hired to be a private tutor to the Arl of Redcliffe's son (that's illegal: mages are to be brought up only at the Circle of Magi because they are potential threats to everyone around them due to their vulnerability to demons), but in actuality, he was hired to poison the Arl. And that he did. Anyway, he was thrown in the dungeon, the player meets him and has several options about what to do with him, I left him alive and used him later, but I couldn't get him as a party member. BUT... he was SUPPOSED to join your party as an option in the game, but the developers cut that last-minute. So what did I do? I played around with the toolset and edited a few source files and BAM, Jowan.
Jowan is also using a custom spell in this screenshot that I made called Blood Bond, because there are only 4 blood magic spells in game and that's not cool.
Yay Jowan! (He's sooo much better than that insufferable Morrigan.)

Got Jowan. Mod works very nicely and it's kind of adorable the way Jowan follows you around at camp--- like he's terrified of your companions and doesn't want to be outside shouting distance. Poor little blood mage.

If you ever get that up and running let me know! I've contributed to Karmas mod, and have downloaded it, but really the only three characters I ever wanted were Jowan, Tamlen and Cullen.

._. is this probably an irrelevant question, but the peeps in the nexus forums don't know how to answer it >:U and I can't go to the BSN because I haven't registered my game because I bought it used and I can't find the DA
So, how do you add voice overs to the dialouge tree? No, I don't want banter sets, Like "LET'S TAKE CARE OF THIS ONE" while fighting, But voice OVERS! Its not as easy as the nwn2 toolset.. >.<.. where you just drop and add in the line..

A very nice mod, thanks for making it possible to have Jowan in the party. I noticed some bugs however. I recruted him right away after the Mage Origin and before I entered Lothering. Jowan won't show up in the party pick screen at all although I can see and equip him with new clothes/weapons in camp when I open the inventory. I accidently removed him from my party at some time though and can't choose him again - because he just isn't available for selection. Another thing is, when I went to Denerim the first time (without him), the game crashed after loading the market area and I wasn't able to load any savegame afterwards, no matter what savegame I tried to load. The crashing only stopped after I removed and uninstalled this mod.
I'm using DAO v1.4 and I have quite a lot of mods installed but I never experienced gamecrashes before. The majority of those mods are for better looks only (textures) but maybe it is an issue with one of the behavior altering/core mods like Improved Atmosphere 1.3. Dunno. Any help or advice would be highly appreciated.

The only thing that Jowan and I have in common is that we are both private, in-home tutors... and some of my students act like they were possessed by demons. XD

OH, my GOODNESS! I was just talking with someone about how awesome it would be if we had a Jowan mod, along the lines of the Ser Gilmore one that's available over at DANexus!
I will be checking back frequently, because I absolutely cannot wait until you finish this puppy up and share it with us! <3 I hope you include a mod for those robes, too, if they're not stock -- they look FANTASTIC.

It's a site for uploading/downloading mods for Dragon Age. They don't have a Jowan companion mod yet I don't think; it's actually the first thing I looked for there. I'm not surprised they don't have it, though. The community is mostly male. Though, personally, even if I didn't like Jowan, I wouldn't turn down another mage in the party.:3

Yeah. Really, I just don't like Morrigan XD And I was disappointed that Jowan as a playable character was cut from the game.

I'm disappointed, too! It would've made perfect sense to recruit him, and it would've evened out the mage to melee ratio. Shale seems to be the only melee companion that doesn't die every five seconds.
I personally like Morrigan, but I don't have her in my party as often as I'd like since she disapproves of everything.;_;

Actually, if you play the Warden's Keep DLC then you can get two more blood magic spells from it.
