Hello~ I'm back from a heavy art block n was chatting w my sis about a httyd dragon oc I just got that I planed to name Yu Pian (fish fillet since they look like a koi fish it was originally gonna be fish flakes which would work with the naming conventions but wouldn't suit the region she's from).

Which honestly lined up with my character idea that I had where she was primarily a swimmer n constantly in the water and so my sis brought up the idea to have her based from the Tibet/South/East Asia region and I wanted to mix in some native in there too (because I'm a heavy ice bridge theorist).

I wanted her to have created a rebreather and so my sis thought that since China n India were two of the oldest locations in the world they would be more technologically inclined then the Vikings were back then. She also pointed out the coolest photos to me of Chinese fishermen Y'all know; this dude: mymodernmet.com/wp/wp-content/…

She also reminded me that dragons are highly regarded in Asia to the point they were the pinnacle of gods and dealt with weather/elements and even helped trap demons to give prosperity, and so they might have a different working system then Burk did to where they work as tribes to multiple alpha dragons and so cities can be bult around them and work in harmony; and so it could create a really good conflict/action situation if she learns about how dragons were treated before hiccup.

sickest lookin dude I tell ya so I gave her a staff n I'm thinking of adding some birds that know her n she tends to feed when she ain't feeding Yu Pian. I wanted her over coat to be heavily water resistant inside and out as well so I have it set to be harp seal fur/leather that's incased with intestines so that she doesn't get fully wet easily. I also gave her dancing calf wraps (mainly because they're pretty n a sensory thing) Under her coat she'll have a large dancing shirt to cover her armor (lots of layers to vs the cold). I didn't really give her shoes mainly because I head canon she likes to run around bear footed for sensory n it helps to not get jungle rot when she goes under to fish or fetch clams (I know 2 much medical stuff I s2g). She does wear them during the winter! I feel like this info is a little weird but meh (°ー°〃)

I have no idea how she'll meet her dragon yet but they'll work together to go to depths that normal people can't get to so they can catch rarer fish to get better pay.
