Ho-oh and Lugia are one of my favorite legendaries as well so naturally I had to do a picture featuring not one, but both of them.

Pokémon canon-wise, Ho-oh and Lugia never confronted each other in a hostile manner but just think about what kind of a battle it would be.
Ho-oh can resurrect the dead and holds the power of the Sacred Fire and Lugia is a mighty beast of the sea with the power to raise a storm lasting for 40 days just by flapping one of its wings.
It would be one kickass fight to behold.

About Ho-oh's design:
If you compare Ho-oh's build with Lugia's, you'll notice it's much lighter. Why? Well, Ho-oh stops to rest only in one place in the whole world, at the top of the Tin Tower. Otherwise, it just flies over the world.
Also, considering how much it spends outside just flying around, I wanted to make Ho-oh's skin a warm shade of brown, creating a nice contrast with Lugia's pale skin.
The nose is pretty edgy and sharp, referring to Ho-oh's beak.
As you can see, I also kept much of the original look of Ho-oh's legs. They are bird-like but I modified them a bit. Sadly, you can't see them in full detail.
The tail... Well, you can decide yourself whether it's an actual tail or just a part of Ho-oh's shash.

About Lugia's design:
So then, Lugia has heavier build than Ho-oh. Well, while Ho-oh spends most of its time in flight, Lugia resides at the bottom of the sea because of its power to raise storms so naturally, it has to swim a lot. And while you're in water, bodybuild and weight don't really matter. Instead, you need muscles to get forward fast. So, there.
Lugia also has much more futuristic look to it than Ho-oh. That's because to me having Psychic as a type is kinda utopistic idea. It's kinda hard to explain.
Lugia still has its tail and the funky-looking feet. Telling that because you can't see them very well.

Yup, I have explanation for every little thing I drew. If you want to know something about some certain attribute, just ask.

I'm so into drawing gijinkas now... I love it.
And I'd like to get some suggestions of what I would draw next!
