In my headcanon, Princess Luna has thermal vision.It begs the question, though: Which is more powerful; alicorn magic or a 105 mm howitzer?

But I always thought alicorns were more powerful; one could move the sun, another could move the moon, and more could do equally powerful or virtually so things. But if you ask Meghan McCarthy, the answer would definitely be the howitzer. In the canon the show has been since she became editor, the princesses have been flanderized as stupid or pathetic, especially in her episodes; there's no in-between. Even if they're not goddesses or 100% immortal, they were still symbols of greatness we didn't even need to know that much of as characters when the show was fresh; you may have heard of force-of-nature villains, but I always saw the Regal Sisters as F.O.N. good guys in the show's golden days. It just really saddens me sometimes to see how McCarthy portrayed them in A Canterlot Wedding, The Crystal Empire, Princess Twilight Sparkle, Twilight's Kingdom and the 2017 movie.
