Description One of the lesser known mythological creatures is this, the Enfield!
I've been meaning to try and draw one for a while; it's the animal on the crest of my mother's family's coat of arms.

"the head of a fox, the chest of an elephant, the mane of a horse, the forelegs of an eagle , the body and hind legs of a hound , and the tail of a lion. "

I didn't quite go for the 'chest of an elephant' look, because I honestly didn't know how it would work.

I've never heard of the enfield having the "chest of an elephant" before. Granted, I only know the mere basics behind an enfield. I learned about the enfield while looking up what wolves symbolize in heraldry, both my original and current family crest feature black wolves in them. (which is why a black wolf is my avatar here, on DA) Despite wolves often being a symbol evil in the Middle Ages, wolves also symbolizes strength and courage, in heraldry specifically, they symbolize determination during a siege, and diligence in industrial work.

This is hilariously awesome. Awesome cause I love endfields and this is great work. Hilarious because I happen to have a coat of arms I made myself that uses a green enfield.

Thumbs up for an excellent enfield picture. Yours has a far less jarring transition between parts, though I'm unsure that green is the best colour for them. I'm partial to my blues, personally.

Seriously, though, good to see them catching on.

Thanks very much It's based on the Enfield on the Kelly clan's coat of arms, though, so I couldn't do it any colour other than green

haha yay! I've known about them for a good while, ever since I saw my grandma's coat of arms. But I never found out what they were called till I did the research to draw this

Hm, I've never heard of this Enfield before... someday I must think of a way to incorporate it into something creative. :3 Thank you, I have learned something new today!

... And also because of it, I will forever associate the Enfield with this picture. Amazing work. ^^
