Personality:
Mwalimu wants nothing more than to gain status. He will manipulate, lie, and cheat his way into any position possible, especially since he sees himself as the true heir of his birth pride. He will protect those he feels belong to him, male or female, almost to the point of violence, and is extremely calm up until that point, preferring to wine and dine other lions and lionesses. He is such a closeted homosexual and grew up in a pride that valued straight masculinity that he actively pursues lionesses, offering "companionship" in exchange for being seen as extremely heterosexual. He is also very determined and stubborn, making everything seem ‘his way or the highway’, if other lions and lionesses don’t like it, they can either be chased off or be killed. His ultimate goal is to be seen as a king, as he believes that to be his birth right.

History:

Born to a small Northern pride, Mwalimu grew up in a very traditional family. One male was the king and the father of all cubs born to the females of the pride, often chasing off his adult or teenage male offspring. When Mwalimu was growing up, his mother told him of her plans for him to become a great and powerful king, one who would be feared even to the prides of the far South. He was raised to be charming, manipulative, and grew to lie in order to get whatever he wanted. Initially, he was chosen to become the heir of his birth pride, however, upon the birth of his half brother, Chagua, who was the spitting image of his father, he was replaced. Mwalimu was close to his father's coloration, but not a near exact copy, and the great King Muumba wanted his legacy to continue in his own image. His own mother seemed to turn on him, instead choosing to put her affections towards Chagua, the true heir.

Distraught, Mwalimu left his birth pride, swearing that he would never return. He had an unfortunate run in with some honey badgers who tried to attack him, but were swiftly destroyed by the male. Since then he's had a loathing for the vermin. He currently resides north of the Mauti Mountains/Umoja Chui territory.
Important Events:
At age 2 he was replaced by a newborn as the future heir of his pride.
