Have you tried to work with Wizards of the Coast to do art for Magic the Gathering or Dungeons and Dragons? This reminds me of some of the merfolk art for recent Magic sets.

the original myth is like:
"An environmental spirits with ability to take on human form, forest spirits or forest spirits. Mostly females who dwells in trees, mountains, seas, etc., also believed to be gods or demigods"

the myth in my story is kinda same, where they are spirits that takes a humanoid form using the elements of the earth like plants, trees, flowers, rocks, etc.
