so, I've watched The Lion King remake in the cinemas, and I really liked it
I've seen so much negative critique, and I do understand why people dislike the movie, but I think they did a great job on it. I especially liked the additional animals in the jungle, and the fight scene in the end. What the movie kind of lacks is the "Be Prepared" song (it seemed kind of rushed), and that Rafiki isn't such a strong character as in the original movie.
Anyways, here's some fan art of one of my favourite movies. It's Simba with Sarabi, looking over their homelands after finally taking it back from Scar : )
I didn't make Simba bigger than Sarabi on purpose because he only ate bugs for the past few years, and he's not fully grown yet.

You got a gorgeous style, I love it! Also agree with you on the movie. I loved the movie actually. In my case, I did kinda expect a little more of the scene with Mufasa's ghost. Had hoped for it to be a tad more epic. But other than that, I enjoyed it a lot.
Of course the original one will always hold a very special place in my heart, but the 2019 has a lot going for it as well. I for my part love both movies~
Back to your drawing, apart from the gorgeous semirealistic style (I'm a sucker for semi-realism) I reallyΒ enjoy the lighting as well. It's so sublte but still has a great effect on the overall atmosphere of the piece!Β
