Once controlled by Xemnas, there was little of Demyx that was his anymore. His eyes were Xemnas’ eyes. Demyx did as he was told, because there wasn’t any other option. With the last glimmer of his conscience he had to find Zexion. Despite his control, Demyx found himself lingering in the world that wasn’t his own. He was in Hollow Bastion, the remnants of what used to be Radiant Garden.
Pulling out a piece of folded paper, he studied it closely and analyzed both the drawing and the place of what he saw before him. It did not resemble the picture by any means, but it held similarity that was obviously there. Features held together over the years, no matter how warped it was now.
Zexion had drawn the picture. It was so meticulously drawn, that the blond was able to compare details to help his confirmation. Back then, from Zexion’s memory, Radiant Garden was a charming place. Lush green grass, a plethora of flowers, and gorgeous fountains graced the area, now it was just the opposite.
Tucking the paper back into his pocket, the man continued his search. He had to see him one last time. Something pulled at his heartstrings to know if Zexion was really alive and well.
It proved no challenge to enter the building, but once inside was another story. Heavy footsteps resonated from the hallways indicating that others were present. Taking a risk, Demyx peeked around the corner to see the back of what looked to be Lexaeus. With this knowledge, that meant Zexion was close. Lexaeus was never far when it came to Zexion, he was the silent protector after all.
With quiet footing and ducking into empty hallways to obscure his whereabouts proved to be worth it.
Faintly in another room, the familiar comforting voice was just on the other side of the wall. His heart raced, just listening wasn’t enough to sate his mind. Demyx had to see him, after that he decided Zexion would be alright. This yearning for confirmation was soon going to be granted with Vexen dismissing himself to get something.
This was his chance to catch a glimpse of the man in question. He darted to the door swiftly, hoping he didn’t create too much noise. Expecting to reach for a door, his hand was mistaken and the figure in the doorway was Zexion.
Demyx froze. It was really him, he was alive and his eyes were still the miraculous wonderful shade of blue. Relief washed over the blond, Xemnas didn’t have Zexion in his grasp.
The first person to break the silence was the slate haired male in a lab coat, “Demyx?”
Awkwardly and out of habit, the blond reached into his pocket for the infamous notecards, but instead drew the folded paper. There wasn’t a planned speech for something like this, what was he to say?
He settled to rub the back of his neck nervously, “Myde now.”
“Apologies. Ienzo now,” he mimicked the blond with a small smirk tugging at his lips.
Despite his knowledge of being a somebody again, due to his lack of control he was still assigned to his old name. Looking over the male before him, Ienzo, what a fitting name now that Demyx thought about it.
“I-I can’t stay here long. I-,” the blond fumbled with his wording.
Blue eyes narrowed as Ienzo drew closer, “Myde… Your eyes, what happened?”
“I’m not exactly myself,” the blond slowly began, “You were right all along Ienzo.”
A silence filled the room, the blond hoped the blunette would connect the dots. With a nod, he had deduced what Myde was trying to tell him.
His eyes began to feel heavy, he felt like he couldn’t breath, he wanted to run, but he knew that by running he would never see Ienzo again.
His voice cracking, a little wobbly apology left Myde, “I’m sorry.”
Pinching the bridge of his nose, the younger shook his head, “I can’t believe this.”
Backing up slowly, this was his chance to go. He didn’t want to get caught. Not by the others, and certainly not by Xemnas or otherwise known as Xehanort, who knew his every move. With his speedy escape, the paper he had kept so close to his person flew from his grasp and onto the floor.
Intrigued by what the mullet haired man would keep in his pocket, Ienzo picked it up and analyzed it. To his surprise it was his drawing from long ago of Radiant Garden. Oh the back, it was apparent that there were scattered notes running along the back now. One in particular snatched his attention:
“Zexion, I had to see you one last time. I’m slowly becoming consumed by the darkness. I didn’t think it would happen to me, but it did. My eyes are his eyes, and he sees what I see. Please don’t remember me for this, but remember me as the nobody who could make you smile again.
Live for me okay?
Demyx ♡”

I live for angst, and this? This was just the right amount. It's bitterly sweet; Demyx got to see Zexion one more time, alas... it may be for the last time. And Zexion? He got to see his friend, struggling in the grasp of a man who tormented them and gaslighted them for his own evil bidding. Ah, the beauty of pain.
